Complain about next seasons recruiting all you want. At this point without getting to the portal and seeing what we come up with that’s valid. But Pope put together a nice roster this year. There is a lot of talent here. Did he rely too much on JQ and his risk? Maybe. Did the pieces fit great? Maybe not. I have a clue for you. The pieces Cal put together didn’t work much the last few years either. And Cal had no clue what to do about it. Pope is at least trying to fit the pieces together despite horrific injury luck.

Pope put together a "nice" roster, that's a good way to put it. Problem is, it's not a great roster, but it should be.
This roster is full of complimentary players and Pope overlooked the pg spot. There was no depth there. I'm glad to see DA rounding the corner, but he's not a title winning caliber pg.
Pope had $22m to spent and ge got zero star talent. He can’t do that again next year.
Pope should get Moreno, JJ, Kam, DA, Chandler and probably Lowe back, but he needs to find a way to fill the roster with stars that have spent some time in the weight room.

Ah yes, January Cal. I remember January of 22 when we were the best team in the country. Crushed KU in Lawrence, crushed Tennessee.by 30 and uNC by 30, but from there, it went downhill, then Saint Peters put the final nail in our coffin.

Typical Calipari. This will be his best year hands down. He won’t get freshman classes be this good, they haven’t been in years and won’t be in the future. This was always the team I worried about not having here, but it seems they’ll be another come up short Calipari team.
Add his coaching, they have no shot at a title and very slim shot at a final four. They are average at best in the front court, Calipari cannot win without it. Calipari must have the dominant shot blocker who’s extremely consistent and dominant.
After this Arkansas is going to have average seasons and maybe some bad ones. I think he’ll be there another 2 more years and that’s it. He’ll come back here for his legacy and Arkansas will be a place he went to finish his checks. Arkansas fans still don’t get it but they will in the end. If they begin to turn on him after choking with this team his ego will go crazy and he’ll leave them in a bad spot and back to the cellar they go.
Moving Calipari out was the right move, I just don’t think we made the right hire. Mitch always strikes and screw’s it up. Hopefully with the NIL is bails the hire out or Mark figures something out. But getting Calipari out of here, although I hate it for his legacy and ours, needed to be done.

I've watched their last 2 games, they definitely can shoot and Acuff and Thomas are as good as Antonio Reeves around the basket.
If UK goes into Fayetteville and stays within 10, I'll be impressed.

Players did improve under Cal. He deserves some of the criticisms but that’s not one.

I mean, sure I can understand missing the guy in weak moments. But some people are talking about Calipari all the time. It’s just odd:

He’s just a Kentucky coach. I expect to see all Kentucky coaches on here at some point or another. Nobody hypes Cal up. He was just our coach for 15 years. Don’t have to hate the man or hype him up.

Look at how much talent he had and his record his last 6 or so years. If you can’t objectively say he doesn’t deserve criticism for failing to meet expectations then you’re just not open to reality on this one.

They are a different animal at home. I really wish we beat them last year when the game was in Rupp.
Cal is going to put a lot of effort into this one. He is very good at focusing on certain games and we're going to be that game he locks in on each year.
However, this, like the Tennessee game, is one we're not expected to win, so a win would be huge and we can trash Pope all we want, but he has proven he can win these type of games.

There's no way to ignore him. He's larger than life, in both good and bad ways. As long as he's still coaching, UK fans will be talking Cal constantly. It is what it is.
