Any chance we go after some of them. I don’t know much about them but there is a handful already to declare. Thought some of you might be familiar with them.

Do if they can’t play at Arkansas why would you want them at Uk?

Far be it from me to pimp TOS but they have an interesting article on players already in the portal who UK may be interested in. FWIW.

This seems strange. Snipped this from an article on the ESPN site:

" the Division I Council approved in August new transfer window dates for when players can enter the portal. Instead of being able to leave a school at any time, players now have to enter the portal within set dates. The first window opens the day after the championship teams are selected, which will be Dec. 5, and closes 45 days later on Jan. 18, 2023. There is also a 15-day spring period from May 1-15."

The article list several exceptions to the rule but the only one, I see, that might apply is that graduate transfer can enter at any time.

mrschwump, please what is "TOS"? or even better do you have a link.

TOS="The Other Site" meaning CatsPause. Won't link it because not sure I'm allowed to here.

If it's the same article that I read over there, they were just spit balling about players that may enter the portal. I think Lacey was the only one that is actually in the portal at this point.

Answer my question if you can. If you can’t just say so.
I think the easy answer is that it is case by case, with any player. You get a guy that doesn't play somewhere, your first question is why. If he isn't willing to put the work in he likely isn't going to be successful anywhere. If he's buried behind experienced talent, you can probably find a spot for someone like that.

Coen wanted Levis. When he signed here poster on here laughed. No one had heard of him. No one though he could beat out Bo Allen.
I saw the indoor workout video of Levis and was wowed by his arm. I am not a talent scout but it was clear he had way more potential than Bo Allen, who I was not high on.

All I remember, and I don’t mean you specifically, is when Levis signed it was laughed off by nearly the entire board.

Did he not enter the portal? And didn't you say that kids that enter the portal arent good enough players? What the hell difference does it make where he grew up? He was a portal player.
There is a difference is a starter and someone that can't see the field. There are lots of portal guys UK will be after. I don't think it will be any Arkansas guys that are currently listed in the portal though

No my point was just because some random player enters the portal UK doesn’t need to go after him. WanDale was not a random player. He was a know talent

Pretty sure we are going to have several hit the portal this cycle. We had several older players passed by true frosh on D. Likely lose a TE, QB at some point and an OL or 2

I think it is likely, too. Who do you think might be transferring ??

I didn't know who he was when he committed but I saw the workout video and watched some clips of him playing at PSU and was impressed. He was raw as a passing QB but the arm talent was unreal and his running skills mirrored that of Tim Tebow, or did, until ***** neutered him.

I don't understand that one. Is he hurt? I saw Dinkins in the goal line stand against Ga and thought where was Hayes.
I assume he's gotten beat out but I'm not sure. As Rogers has improved and Walker has shown out, Hayes snap count has went lower and lower. I don't know if he's battled injuries or not. There is some talk that Rogers will at least test the draft and get an evaluation. It would really suck if Rogers went pro and Hayes transferred

The bold is what threw me off. The article I saw had only one player that I'm aware of already in the portal. No biggie either way.

I really hope it doesn't play out that way. Next season already looks like a rebuild losing Levis, CRod, Square, Jacquez, etc. And we add Bama to the schedule. At this point I'm just hoping for 6-6 next year.
