The Hogs didn't help themselves today losing to Mizzou. They are 7-5 and 3-5 in the SEC. This could very well put them in Shreveport in the Ind. Bowl. Ole Miss needs to win vs MSU to get bowl eligible, and IMO that will put them in Birmingham Bowl.
This would bode well for UK, as far as getting in the MCB, Belk Bowl, or Liberty Bowl. This would help fan turnout for our bowl game, not thinking a lot of BBN would trek to Shr'port or B'ham.
Thoughts...........

I'm hoping that Memphis beating Houston helps us as well. There were a few projections that had us playing Houston.....who I want no part of.

Some projections had us playing Georgia Tech. Our two rushing games could be interesting playing each other.

We finish in either a 2 way tie for 3rd or a 3 way tie for second place in the East, depending on what UT does against Vandy. I should think that would count for something.

Hoping that UK is selected for the Music City Bowl! I have a son that lives in Hendersonville. Just a hop&ajump from the stadium! That is selfish on my behalf, however I've never been to a bowl game & this would be a perfect opportunity!!!

If they actually want the UK fans to show up in force, then they better put us in the MCB or a Florida bowl. I honestly don't think we will bring a big crowd to Birmingham or Shreveport. I just don't think the fans have the faith in this team to go to a crappy place for a bowl. MCB is close enough to interest a lot of fans and win or lose fans could make a nice trip out of a Florida bowl to make the trip worth it.

I'm hoping finishing with a better record in conference will move us up over Arkansas and maybe the whole situation with LSU refusing to play at Florida will push them down some. I still hold out hope we get a decent bowl location.

Could wind up in Nashville or Charlotte, I personally would prefer Charlotte, 4 and 1/2 hrs. from my home, but Nashville is good, also would go to Memphis probably.

IMO, the only way we can possibly end up at the MCB is by beating ul...and then we're still behind other schools in pecking order. Unfortunately, I see Birmingham or Shrieveport as the likely contenders. With any luck we end up in Charlotte or Memphis.

The Liberty and MCB are the most likely to have big UK crowds as they are played on Friday. Small crowd for Shreiveport on the Monday after Christmas. Maybe better chance of good crowds for Thursday games at Charlotte or Birmingham. Personally, I'd love MCB but won't be holding my breath. I'd be really happy with the Liberty Bowl.

Liberty, Music City, and Belk bowls are all played on Friday Dec. 29th at Noon, 3:30, and 5:30 respectfully. I would be happy with any of the 3.

I'm confused. The Belk Bowl site has the game listed for Dec 29 which is a Thursday.

It would really help if UK could win tomorrow.....

A loss today would put UK at 1-3 down the stretch with the 1 being a terrible performance against the worst team in D1 football. I don't think that bodes well for a large following anywhere UK goes.

So you're right, today is critical and I think the Cats get it done 31-27.

Losing 3 to the likes of UGA, ut and ul does not necessarily shed an unfavorable light on a team. Probably 90% of the teams in the country would also lose to them. Should've, could've, would've beaten uga had we not bumbled it away.

Don't get hung up on attendance at these lower bowls, they make their money from sponsorship and TV contracts. Attendance is gravy.

You are giving UGA and UT way too much credit. UT is soft and UGA is rebuilding. I'll go so far to say if Vandy beats UT today, Butch Jones will be history.

Think ram has nailed it. To get a bowl better than Birmingham/Independence we need to be in the top nine bowl eligible SEC schools. Currently there are eight school who will have at least seven wins. We are 6-6 along with S Car, Vandy and Ole Miss could still make it to 6-6. Even tho the league groups the game of six together there is a big divide between Belk/Liberty and the other four in terms of money payed out.

Outback (Tampa) = 3.5
Music City (Nashville) = 2.75
Taxslayer (Jacksonville) = 2.75
Texas (Houston) = 3.0
Belk (Charlotte) = 1.7
Liberty (Memphis) = 1.438

I expect it to come down to Belk or Liberty taking a 6-6 team. S Car seems a more likely shot for Belk. UK if it's Liberty.

Much as you may hate it, we need UTn to beat Vandy and Miss St to win the Egg Bowl to eliminate those two school from being bowl eligible.

Beat UL and we move up with a possibility of getting one of the top four of the gang of six bowl.

I'm hoping for the Liberty Bowl now. I know a lot of people don't care but the basketball team plays Ole Miss the night before down there. Seems like a fun couple of days. Basketball at night then wake up in the morning and drive an hour and a half and go to the bowl game.

I won't be able to make it, but I think that would be a great weekend and I'd love to go. Curious as to why you say you know a lot of people don't care? Sounds great to me.

I doubt we get anything beyond one of the crappiest SEC tiered bowls. All we had to do was to beat Southern Miss to potentially get above that but...well we saw what happened
