I notice alot of backs have ran thru our arm tackles,
1. the player is in position make the play
so it may not be a scheme problem
2. are they not looking at the waist of the running back?
it seems if they don't try to arm tackle by the side and actually get in the backs way,
even if the back break the tackle in will slow him down enough for help to arrive.
3. I ask this because it seems to happen a lot and even though I'm sure purdue has a good back,
we seem to let him look like barry sanders.

Breaking habits is hard.

It seems like they're not used to much contact. Probably don't do much full speed tackling in practice.

UCF had a ton of this the last 2 years. I don't think this is a habit thing
I can't speak to that. I DVR all of their games last year and have erased them all except for the Auburn game. Their defense gave me pause and wasn't sold on chinander. Offense just found a way to outscore people. But their defense was very good against Auburn.

Yes Auburn they looked decent. However bowls are hard to judge. They don't mean much except for the playoff.

You won't find many fans of Chinander down here in Orlando. Auburn was a bit of an anomaly and it was basically Shaquem-fest.

It's taken Randy Shannon running tackling drills nonstop to untrain the D that guy left us.
