Huh, bout as good of news I've ever heard of as far as UK recruiting goes, at positions we desperately need it. If young can somehow get in the rotation next season and at least be an upgrade over these lineman last season (I think GAA will be good). But if young can somehow contribute that would be something great. Not counting on it though a true freshman in the SEC regardless of how great of a prospect is just almost always too much to ask of at the OL position in this league. The schemes, strength, speed, and talent of these SEC defenses is just a crazy transition from high school. Probably will need at least a year to learn. But if he can play then who knows.

Anyways if we can move GAA back to gaurd, have leavitt at LT, and young in the rotation at RT next season. We could have a decent OL next season though I'm not really sold on schlarman yet. But the future of the offensive line does look bright. Losing that NT commit really hurt us though, (for some reason already forgot his name, kode smith maybe? Lol. watched the footage on him forever ago and man). A truly crazy physical specimen that we couldn't afford to lose at a position we desperately need players. Very glad to see Kentucky boys like kash and young turning heads, proves it doesnt matter the level kash is playing against, he's a truly special player in the making that we're truly lucky to have. Kid pretty much dreamed of playing at Kentucky and the guy could probably go anywhere and make an impact, could end up being a star in the league one day who knows. So excited to see what he brings.

It is a real positive for sure. But the thing that has me more excited about these 3 guys is their apparent leadership and commitment they will bring to the program that is dying for some. They are all guys that not only turned down big schools and committed, but basically signed letters saying we are not only solid commitments, we are committed to turning this thing around. Its almost like we have recruited a leadership team within the class. The fact that they may be big time players will make that leadership even more effective.

Not since the Woodyard, Burton, Tamme days have we had anything like that. I used to think all that was just fluff talk but I've seen that it really does matter.

Have said in others posts, but I will be surprised if Landon is not starting by at least the middle of next season. I think his size and talent outweighs anyone on the current roster's experience level. Meadows better commit 110% to this offseason because his starting job is in trouble. The tackles performed so poorly last season its hard not to see possibly the best tackle prospect KY has had in a very long time not starting over the current roster of tackles (unless a RS comes out of nowhere).

This. Honestly had no idea that he was this much of a talent. We see other schools (high profile) that sometimes start a frosh on Oline simply because they are too talented not to. Sounds like we might have a few of those guys coming in.
Would love to have Jackson RS though - if Toth can stay healthy - we may have the center spot on lock for 5 years!!

Landon could be our first 5 star in the Rivals era. They'll get one more star revision before signing day and JR said these All Star games can have a big effect. I could see Landon getting a 5th star and Kash being bumped up to a 4. Boy, that would be great.

Young may be ready to move into the starting rotation as a true freshmen. His body is already there compared to other guys. If he is able to give us good minutes at tackle, you get Leavitt on the other side and move big George to guard, now we've got something. That's a huge upgrade to where we were these last 2 years.

Is it possible Kash will be too good to redshirt?

More than possible. He was told to expect 2nd string snaps this spring behind Love. I suspect he shares those with at least one other, but it is clear the staff wants to give him a good hard look.

Count me in the camp of people who believe this. I think he'll get reps behind Love, and I believe Jordan Jones will get reps behind Ware.

He's got arms that look like he's already been spending a lot of time in a college weight room.

Agreed, yet he says he cannot wait to get into the strength program at UK and prepare for the spring. This week has been very good for him to see how he matches up. I think he too realized the level of competition he saw in HS was not quite up to what others experienced. I believe he has been affirmed this week that he can succeed.

Yeah Young just might be the exception to the freshmen theory.

Kash looks a bit like Neal Brown with the visor and all.

I'm so incredibly excited to see these guys produce over the next few seasons.

Are there any rumblings that the players are recruiting with any success while at the camp?

Well dang. At least the success at the game this year will open the eyes of future recruits. Anyone else think the 2017 class goes very well?

I think so. It feels like our classes have gotten better every year overall. This season, we added two All-Freshman SEC players to our roster, and I absolutely loved what I seen from Baity in the time that he started. I expect that we'll add 2 or 3 more with this current class, and the 2017 class is shaping up well as of right now. A lot of talented players looking hard at Kentucky.

Just goes to show what kind of players we're getting. Representing the state and the university very well. As a fan, I'm really proud that they're doing so well!
I plan to attend practice tomorrow at Blossom Athletic Center here in San Antonio. There is a buzz here about the Kentucky kids. I remember when Micah Johnson played in the All American Bowl as a 4-star player attending Kentucky. Most of the players made fun of the fact he was attending UK and some actively tried to recruit him to other schools. To see the respect and admiration in the press for the Kentucky kids bodes well for our football future and the university.

Absolutely. And I think most, if not all of us would love to hear your feedback on what you think of our guys tomorrow! I'd definitely like to see them, but with that not being possible right now, hearing about them from somebody who gets to watch them first hand will suffice. :pimp:

I am over the top excited about these 3 young men. Look at the freakin' arms on Kash..holy Jesus..I got a feeling this strong as an ox mountain boy has a nasty streak about on the field. He certainly looks the part as do all 3 of them.

Late or early it wouldn't matter. Kid has been a Cat all along. Alabama peaked some interest only because of who they were a while back but think he always appreciated Stoops early commitment to jim and he and Drake and Kash are too blue. UGA has no shot.

Kash already looks like a monster. Landon is huge too. These are 3 recruits that can help turn UK around.

We have not lost him yet! Will know soon! ( Kobe Smith will either enroll in January at either South Carolina or in Lexington! I think we will still get him! His main concern is playing time and SouthCarolina has other higher rated targets ahead of him!
