I am having a hard time believing that PK is just that much better than GA.
He isn't. But PK puts a lot of effort into TRYING to score, he just doesn't have the total athletic package to accomplish that on a regular basis IMO. If PK had Gabe Arnold's explosiveness he'd be a lead pipe lock to face off against Levi Haines on Saturday Night, and have a damn good chance to beat him.

But alas, that's not who he is, I just hope he can grind his way to another podium finish. Neither of these guys are great wrestlers IMO, but they're damn solid and contribute what they can as Hawks.

Is this NOT a troll job by the OP???? I mean, hopefully he is indeed that HIGH on these wrestlers and our future???? But saying ARNOLD will AA this year leads me to believe he may be hitting the source or something?

I like ARNOLD and think he can do well at 174 for us NEXT season. LUDINGTON AAs next year and I will be BEYOND thrilled because that will mean he did the necessary off-season WORK!!!

As for the FUTURE????? I am REAL worried!!!

It will be interesting to see if either shows offense improvement. Gabe needs to develop some attacks off from Russian ties and underhooks. I am hoping Lud shows us some tilt ability with those leg rides.

I can't remember a time (and I go back a ways) when Iowa fielded a team with this many question marks. 125 was hurt this year, HWT maybe not hurt but definitely not recovered. The bright spots don't start arriving until '27. Zalensky lost 34 duals in 10 years. With the current team, Iowa could lose 12 or 13 matches in 2.

So proud of these guys. Absolute warriors and showcasing what Iowa wrestling is all about. Pure toughness and grit. Winning close matches. Arnold will AA this year. Luddington will AA next year.
My friend, I think you were just looking for a reason to create a post. Winning close matches? You clearly haven't been watching the wrestling this year. Arnold lost four of his last seven matches, all close matches. As for Harvey, he lost four in a row earlier this year, three of them close matches. All of that said, I'm happy both won last night, otherwise we would have lost. And I think both have real potential going forward, especially Gabe. But aside from that I think you're kinid of full of sh*t and not a realy wrestling fan...or you're a casual fan who hasn't been watching our wrestling events. BTW, if AF doesn't go and Gabe goes at 84, I think AA is very possible, but I think going 1-2 or 2-2 is also very possible since he lost to the 9th ranked guy at 74 and the 8th ranked guy at 84. He needs to find his offense. As for Harvey, I think he's a gamer, but I just don't see AA next year. Too much tough competition coming back.

If Arnold and Ludington are the future, that’s exactly where the problem is. Look at the freshman at Ohio State and Penn State, they are hammers. Iowa (hopefully) has Ferrari next year and who else?
The hopefully on Ferrari next year needs to be put in bold. I still don't think many in the fanbase see just how bad things are. If they were blind, blind a couple years ago they still have very blurred vision today. There is no saving this program at this point under TnT. Changes should have been made to the staff a couple years back. Now all the wheels are off.

He'll be working hard with Warner & Buchanan all offseason & look great next year (hopefully)
I hope that's the case, but while I really do hate being negative, I just don't feel he has a high ceiling and will be another guy where maybe we get a low AA or 2 out of him at best. Nice, but not close to what we need. Prove me wrong Harvey!!

First time I saw him was in finals of Fargo against the kid who is a small heavyweight freshman at Nebraska, who was pretty impressive this year for how light he was. Harvey really dominated him and teched him, but it was freestyle. He seemed much quicker and more explosive for some reason.

seems like we hear plodder/ slow feet a lot.
Spencer doesn't exactly have fast feet, but he just happens to have about every other intangible a guy needs. Plenty of plodders have found success in college. Streebler wans't winning any track meets and neither was Jake Varner.
