It really is just a horrific situation. His dad basically had to disown him because I'm sure he was afraid of being murdered.Unbelievable this stuff goes on in the world.

We are going to have to find a way to disentangle our affairs with Erdogan. His is a terrorist regime that even in its infancy is exporting violence to America.

Amen to THAT! Remember a couple years ago Enes father basically was forced to disown him due to political pressure.

There was a North Korean scientist who defected a year or so ago, even though he knew by doing so his family would likely be sent to a prison labor camp. I wish someone in that hell-hole of a country would bite the bullet and take out that pint-sized, murderous dictator.

One military guy tried in Turkey and the citizens started cutting soldiers' heads off in the street.

That one guy was killed in that airport in such a bizarre fashion. I think the women used to deliver the toxin were unaware of what they were even doing. Thought it was a prank for a game show or something. At least that was one story I saw.

Turkey is a sticky topic. It's a difficult situation moreso than most in that region.

Watch this and see how the Turkish treat Americans. It was must watch every time we visited Turkey while I was in the Navy.

The Turkish government is full of sociopaths and maniacs. Talk about being under poor management. As grave as Kanter's situation is as far as being at odds against that government, I did chuckle at their claim to him being a terrorist, and giving said "terrorist organization" such a generic title. They might as well have called this "terrorist organization" the League of Dicks.

Well I'm in Turkey right now and you guys are crazy. This government rocks. Probably my favorite government in the world.

They want what's best for the people.

Probably not a more peaceful government in the land. Just like their religion

I hear that in Turkey the civilians hand out cupcakes and hugs to Americans and offer to have Bible study together.

Stop by the compound in Antallya. LOL Window shopping for *****. They jail the women for the crimes of their husbands and they pay off the fines by prostituting in this compound frequented by the seediest. So, obvious a few of us US sailors had to go check it out.

Coming from an Islamic country that exports terrorism, the Trump policy would be to not allow Kanter back into our country.

Of course, with his fame and financial situation, that is not going to happen. But it will to many more less financially advantaged refugees. Sad.

The policy was to not allow them to return YET until we can vet them. Kanter would have been an easy bet to be vetted.

American citizens come first. Period. When we have 25 killed at a concert you might think differently.

Actually coming from that side, you wouldn't think differently at all.

He's also a green card carrier...most airports treat green card carriers as US Citizens.

I agree, Kanter won't have to worry about the Trump policy, but just pointing out that other innocent victims of oppression do.

And I understand about terrorism. After all I survived the Bowling Green Massacre. :)

Ok, so I'm confused. We're not the worlds police, as I've heard from that side over and over. especially since Carter.

But we are the worlds battered women's shelter when there's no world police to stop the oppression.........

lol can't beat this sht with a stick......

Of course not.

We only police the places where there's oil and poppy fields. Oil game, dope game is big U.S. business. (I will never be convinced we're over there being GI Joe and stamping out evil with the forces of good, although it makes a neat story. It's about that $$$$. See, I have conspiracy theories, too. Lol.)

Remember, both Reagan and Obama went after Muammar Gaddafi and it wasn't out of the goodness of their hearts but rather because Libya's got something valuable we want, IMO of course.

Gulen is a big player in the dope game as you put it. Lame Stream Media continues to put out a narrative to protect the CIA drug trafficking. Gaddafi = evil dictator. Asaad = evil dictator. Hussein = evil dictator. Erdogan = evil dictator. Don't play ball and your country gets smoked.

I went to Istanbul last summer and had the time of my life. Partied like I was back in college. All the people were cool and liked Americans.

Then again, three weeks later the airport was blown up and a few weeks after that they had the coup.

We've been vetting them for years.

I'll wait until Thanksgiving to give my insight into the Turkey situation but really if mom serves her mashed potatoes and stuffing like usual it probably won't matter that much.
