or, for a different title, "five teams that Kentucky would beat anyway, but my boss wanted an article by the morning"

Well, at least the author thought about it for a minute or two before he wrote it. It was definitely better than an article about how VCU might beat us because they have a better mascot or something like that.

I think Mr. Bohlin should call the coaches of VCU, St. John's, tOSU, Xavier, and NC State and ask them if they'd like to play us early.

I agree on NC State. They completely overwhelmed Duke and UNC in games I watched. Only Mark Gottfried has been able to keep them from being a Top 15 team. I saw BeeJay Anya play in high school three years ago, and I'm amazed at how he has transformed himself. And if Lacey gets hot he's trouble for anybody. Hope the Cats don't draw them as an 8-9 seed.

Only team that scares me is NC State. They bring it against highly ranked teams and they might be looked at as not good enough by our guys.

The only opponent that I fear is in our players our minds. If they have a game that they "think" they do not have to play hard then that's the game that fears me. We've had a couple of games this year where a few players decide to not bring the effort, which for the life of me I cannot understand for a competitor. When I was in my 20's I hate losing so bad that I brought my A game whether it was against really good teams & talent or a pick-up game with my 10 year old nephews. No mercy for an inferior opponent.

But there is no college team that this team needs to fear when they come prepared mentally & bring their A effort...no one.

Well, none of them will be a 4/5 so only one can be our opponent. Who wants to be the sacrificial lamb?

Annual Shaka Smart slurp fest.

Of these five, I would only not want to play NC St. They can get hot.

Wasn't there an article early in the year about 5 teams (coulda been a different number) that could beat us or something like that?

That and the fact that under no circumstances do we want to be on NC State's bad side.

If you overlook any opponent in a win or go home game and lose then you deserved your loss. That being said when the schedule gets down to 6 games to go at most I expect our team to be fully focused and functioning on all cylinders much like we saw earlier in the year. Would not expect them to obliterate every opponent but we really should somewhat cruise through the first weekend especially playing in front of a "home" crowd.
