A coach told me so not sure!Alot of rumors swirling around, cant believe everything you hear these days. May be true, may not. Time will tell
Will he be eligible? Not 1A news….but big- time QB from AC Reynolds has transferred to Crest. He has verbally committed to Virginia.

The southern end is not too bad, except near the river. The Creston and Lansing areas hit pretty hard. The folks at West Jefferson United Methodist Church are shuttling supplies as far away as Damascus, VA. Maybe you could try the church to get a better feel for Creston. They may know your folks and have some word. Ashe County is a pretty tight society. Can someone tell me how things are up in Ashe Co.? I haven't seen much information from up there on the local news here near Charlotte. I have family in the West Jefferson area and the community of Creston. My dad and uncle have been trying to reach them since Helene went through but still no luck. Would appreciate info.

So does this mean that ACR is done for the season? Not 1A news….but big- time QB from AC Reynolds has transferred to Crest. He has verbally committed to Virginia.
Thanks for the update. My dad, uncle and I are still trying to reach family in West Jefferson but mostly in the community of Creston. My dad made a couple calls today but still nothing yet.Have not posted in a long time, but just wanted to check in from Ashe. Have not heard about whether they are done for the fall season or not, however it would not surprise me based on the high school being used as a shelter, numerous people still not able to get in and out of their homes, reports of people still missing, etc. Once you go north and west of Jefferson and West Jefferson, it's some of the worst storm damage you'll ever see.
Do you happen to have a street in Creston or names of people youre looking for? My address is in West Jefferson but I live about 6 miles from the Creston Post Office, it's a bumpy ride but they have made some progress on some of the roads around here, at least some temporary fixes. Feel free to email me, nh70744 at yahoo.com if I can find a way to their place I'd be glad to go check in on them. They say that you can get from Creston all the way to Mountain City, TN now without detoursThanks for the update. Well, if my dad can reach my cousin Nancy Osborne Rupard we could probably find out about the rest of the family. Looking on Google earth the address is 1310 Ridge Hill Rd. If she could contact my dad James Coppedge @ 704-475-0995. My grandmother was a Brown who grew up on Ridge Hill Rd.Do you happen to have a street in Creston or names of people youre looking for? Is it Rich Hill instead of Ridge Hill maybe? I am familiar with the Rich Hill Community, it is off of Highway 88 not far past the Riverview Community Center in Creston. If it is Rich Hill Road, it is at the intersection of Highway 88 right next to the North Fork of the New River it did a lot of damage to the road and power poles through there so my guess is they probably still do not have electricity and part of that road probably suffered some serious damage. However I will be glad to ride out there and reach out to some folks that I know are delivering food and supplies to people in that area via ATVs and side by sides if my Jeep can't make itWell, if my dad can reach my cousin Nancy Osborne Rupard we could probably find out about the rest of the family. I'm sorry...typo Rich Hill Road is what I meant. My dad said to tell you thanks for the help.Is it Rich Hill instead of Ridge Hill maybe? Yes. Family lost their home. They have family in Shelby. Dad played at Crest. Will he be eligible?
I was told by a Coach up there they were told to shut down rest of fall season. So is Ashe done for the year or not?
I hope so!From my understanding nothing has been shut completely down for the season. Spoke with someone up in Ashe this morning and the team is hopeful to get to start practicing again soon. Seems that a good number of kids live in those areas where alot of the devastation took place so they are still currently in a holding pattern of wait and see.
Rich Hill Road is open and driveable. Almost all of the folks still without power live in that end of the county, several around Ed Little Road, West Mill Creek and the Clifton community which are all right near Rich Hill. A lot of that area also had significant damage to phone and internet lines, so those that do have power are unlikely able to communicate. Nancy works at Mount Jefferson Family Medicine if your dad would want to reach out to the office number there, they might be able to give you more information on her wellbeing. Great news! Glad for you. Thanks to Eric Staal for your help today. We were finally able to reach my family members up in Ashe County. My cousin Nancy is back home and back at work finally. Everyone survived the storm. My Aunt Jewel who's in her 90s did lose part of her home as it collapsed into the creek behind her home that had swollen due to the massive rainfall. She is ok though and is staying with her daughter. My dad and his brothers are relieved now to hear how everyone was up there. I hope more families who are missing loved ones get news about them soon. Thanks again for the help and news about conditions up in Ashe County. I grew up going up there every summer to see family and it's a beautiful area of the state.
Great to hear man, glad to help! A lot of tough and resourceful people up here. We may not have a big population up here, but we have all tried to pitch in and help out as much as we can. Ashe has been home for me my entire life and I doubt I'll ever leave it.Thanks to Eric Staal for your help today. We were finally able to reach my family members up in Ashe County.
