Was they made to do it cause of the competition around them being too easy for them in 2A and them still holding 2A numbers took on 3A?
It's the new system the NCHSAA used to align teams this go around. Ashe has 2A numbers.
They moved up to 3a due to them not having many kids on free reduced lunch. Not joking, somehow that is now factored into the formula which I think is absolutely rediculous. They definitely have 2a numbers. Think there starting qb senior broke his hand or something beginning of year and now his sophomore brother is qb.
Many state don't use just enrollment no more like AZ they have a formula but AZ system n stuff is way different then here on how you move up or down n all such but main point they do have formula too
First team that can come up with a defensive stop might be able to take control
It frustrates me to see a decent stable of athletes, able to perform on offense, but lack the fundamental tackling skills and positional discipline, so average teams put up so many points. I saw too many arm tackles, too many players out of position to get burned badly by a reverse or play so soft on pass coverage to give up such big plays. It's just frustrating....
Ashe is a 2a team that plays like a 1a team. Watauga has played ashe for years, no reason they should have moved to 3a, they're way out of their league. I always pull for hhs so long as they aren't playing the pioneers, y'all always run a classy program. Congrats on the homecoming win.
So someone said they had to jump to 3A due to something about lunches?? My goodness these boys ain’t the least bit ready for 3A. 2A for them was bad enough but they really never had any push playing against the 2A teams around them that play worse than some 1As. Someone chime in again and explain
