Chargers home opener , Asheville coming off a loss , Crest with an emotional win against Shelby.
Coach Radford always has his teams prepared and always talented.
what are we looking for in the matchup
I hear Asheville has two talented RBs , Crest will have to contain.
Does Asheville have enough athletes to compete with Crest athletes
Chargers getting healthy , Melton, Ruppe And Stowe return to the lineup
This Crest Offense just gets more dynamic with the return of Melton.

Stowe is a wildcard imo , I’m very interested in seeing what he brings , may take awhile to get into game flow being sidelined weeks with injury.
could be a very good piece added to the defense
Ruppe being back gives OL much needed depth and talent.

Asheville is very young at the skill positions. They have a big line but are inconsistent. Crest should win by 2-3 scores, maybe more. Asheville is a little bit Jekyll and Hyde, though, and they might play great or play terrible.

We are obviously the underdog here with a very young team. I hope for a nice showing. We have a ton of 9th and 10th graders playing. I’ll be happy if they can compete like they did against a good dobyns Bennett team last week.

fun fact: Asheville and crest have played 2 times in the 2000s. A 3 point Asheville win in the third round of the 2002 playoffs at crest and a crest win at Asheville high by 3 points in the 3rd round of the 2011 playoffs.

Glad to get healthy and to get more depth on the D Line..We are definitely gonna have to find the right combination upfront to stuff the run..

Was impressed with Asheville in the Buncombe Co Jamboree against Pisgah a few weeks ago but they won't hang with Crest.

I think a lot of programs, especially us think “oh we are gonna be good in a couple years because our middle school has been dominating everybody” and then it never works out. I do feel like this freshman/sophomore class seems to be quite good though. I think going into the season we all have kind of thought “these guys should be really good in a couple years”. But you know how that goes….
We have had probably a dozen players the last 4-5 years that were better as sophomores than seniors

I could have sworn we came up there for the playoffs just a few years ago. I love Asheville's stadium. It's in the top 3 for me personally. Absolutely spectacular in it's own way.
