Yea all 0.001% of Jersey want Flood out of town. The site to get Flood fired could not even raise $13K and yet some site raise some old guy who died raised over $15K for his burial services. As a matter of fact the fire Flood site got less then 160 donors where the old dead got got over 200? I guess only the posters here all 50-75 want to see Flood fired.
PUT UP OR SHUT UP well SHUT UP because NONE OF YOU PUT UP$ <$13K quite embarrassing BUT lord knows ink is cheap and you all love to ink Flood but none have the balls to put up what is needed to move up.

You laughing about a GoFundMe initiative that raised over $8k from at least 130 unique donors in a matter of 36 hours says a lot about your knowledge (or lack thereof) in that field. And your hysterical defense of Flood shot your credibility out of the sky. Back to Earth for you now.

There is always a misconception about travelling Nebraska fans. The idea of 10,000 Husker fans loading up their combines and trekking 2,000 miles East is innaccurate. The vast majority of Husker fans in attendance will be residents of the East Coast and areas within a days drive or closer to Piscataway. Those folks were never going to purchase tickets through the Nebraska ticket office. There was no point. I'm pretty sure those alums and fans are going to still attend the game, even with Nebraska's 2015 collection of suck.

I bet there will be 5,000 to 7,000 Husker fans in attendance. I would've guessed that number prior to the season as well. Of those 5,000 to 7,000 in attendance, I bet 85% of those fans live in the Eastern Time Zone.

85% yes but in fact a total of 330 posters and on this board it is most likely much less as some of our local scab writers have multiple handles
Yes you answered my question perfectly 330 posters and the fire flood only had about 150 people before it was shut down so that is about right quite a few have multiple handles so that is about correct <300 people, more like 150, care if Flood is fired. out of a state population of ~10,000,000
Look at yourselves a handful of disgruntled old men want to spend millions and millions of dollars that the states does not have to fulfill your desire of a better football team???
God you people need to get a life. Flood is here until next fall at worst. Money it is all about Money which no one on this board is going to put up! ***** till the cows come home write on blogs that only a few read vent all you want.
This is Rutgers which is in New Jersey if you do not know how things are going to play out you will never know.
NO money no change
so all 150-330 of you just breath and relax we have a Flood for at least one more season. Until the contract expires. It's Barchi's way, he wants it, no waves until he leaves ~ Nov10 2016

Cornicator how's the gas mileage on those combine's now a days and what's their top mph? Can't wait to see those big red International Harvestors pull into the RV lot. Here on our farm in Jersey we use nothing but John Deere's.[winking]

I live in SoCal and go to one game in Lincoln each year and one road game (most years, not all), and about every 3rd bowl. My wife and I had been planning on Rutgers being my 2015 road game and booked a hotel last June. Due to eldercare issues we decided we couldn't attend. That worked itself out last week, but now it is too late to get flights, make arrangements, etc. I am very bummed and was very much looking forward to seeing your historic campus and other sightseeing. I agree with Cornicator that our reputation for traveling is due to folks reasonably local to the games being the majority of the NU attendees when the games are far from Nebraska. There are also a lot of people like me who peg one or two road games and attend them no matter what our or the other team's record is. I have to plan the road trips 6 months in advance, so waiting to see the respective records does not fit into my equation. I never buy tickets from NU's allotment because they always suck. I think most of our fans who come were planning on coming for a long time, and our poor record will not cause a lot of people to cancel. I expect around 10K Nebraska people there and I was saying the same before the season. It will be hard to tell on TV since we both wear scarlet, except I think your shade is darker than ours. So I won't be visiting you until 2020 I think is the next time we go to your place.

BTW, as long as I'm here, I saw another thread where some guy wanted a banner towed by an airplane advocating firing your coach. That got me thinking that the Miami folks did that at their home games. However, they took it to a whole new level when they played at Cincy and their fans hired a local Ohio aircraft company to fly a Fire Golden banner over Cincinnati. That is what I call fan dedication to firing their coach. Hopefully after Saturday Flood will turn it around and you won't need to fly banners next year.

What's more expensive - keeping Flood with 15k people in the stadium or hiring a new coach and having the place packed?

And how do u know a new coach will pack the stadium?

You think PJ Fleck is gonna pack the stadium? Maybe he can do his chicken dance...

Al Golden? Tell me which coach is going to pack the stadium

Epic Fail. We certainly know what the Stadium will look like next year if Elmer Fudd is coming back.
How about an average of 20,000 fans per game. The B1G will be real pleased over that mess.

A new Coach ( and a new staff ) that can actually properly game plan, motivate his players , and make in game adjustments ( when is the last time Fudd did that) will change the direction of this downward spiraling program. The New Jersey top recruits will take notice and the Talent level will build up to B1G standards. No more Elmer Fuddrutgers disaster recruiting classes ( see: No Top 10 NJ recruits in the last 4 years).
This will bring excitement to the Program and build the fanba$e back up . The alternative is an known failure.

Looking at sk.com like I was for OSU and MSU, there will be a lot of Husker fans but no where near the amount of Ohio State fans that came for their game. Probably right around what we saw for MSU/Michigan. Also, there are many seats left on sk.com, plus StubHub. Students probably e we have a football team by now. Not looking like a great crowd.

We're doing our part. Our group will be our normal 8 plus 3. Between 47,000 and 50,000 sold and 45,000 at the game. The weather will be nice, the 3:30 time is great. Get your butts to the game.

First game I have absolutely no intention to go to since I graduated in 2006. Sad.
Not intended as a knock but isn't that your generation's claim to fame?...picking up and moving on when things get a bit dicey ?... you should have been around for the Anderson, Graber, and Shea era's...each one was a fiasco at some point but this is worse.

lets not go crazy but even the loss of 5000 season tickets will cost school almost 2 million before donations, parking, etc. I'd be if he was kept we would lose between 5000-10000 season ticket sales. I know I would probably drop another 7 or so. yes, I have spoken to the school about this.

Yep, that's exactly my point. I'm sure JH has done the analysis. The only question is whether they want to get out in front of the problem or wait until it actually happens.

As for the person who doubted a coach would pack the stadium. It comes down to wins or at least playing competitively. You get a real coach who can recruit and get the team playing like they should and the stadium will fill itself.

Section 125. Thought I'd never be surrounded by the visiting fans here. We spent a lot on donations besides seat donation to get 4 together here and everyone around just sells their tickets this year, except for a few diehards I see year after year. Can't really blame some of them with the prices I heard their getting and the product on the field. I'm just a glutton for punishment.

No kidding I've been here for four years. Did you ever think you would be surrounded by the opponents fans on the home side no less. I miss my old homies back in section 103 they were a hell of a lot more loyal than this section. Didn't matter if we blew they just made the best of it with the comical acts going on in the stands. Sight lines a hell of a lot better though.

I forgot about that guy. He hosted a free party for a lot of our posters, right?

If he's making the trip, I hope we treat him well.
. He arranged for a private tour of the Huskers facilities & the stadium for a dozen of us & hosted a very large party for all of the RU board posters that traveled to Lincoln. He arrives in NJ later this AM & has 4 days of sports planned (Jets, Rangers, RU & Knicks. He will be treated very well by all of us when he is here. Hr has plans to meet up with different board posters throughout the weekend.

You are a special kinda stupid...

As it currently exists, "very few guys give a ****" about who coaches RU football in terms of their giving.

That is the beauty of crowdfunding.

The campaign would have easily gotten to $12k going into Saturday. If we get blown out, that number would have doubled next week.

What you dinosaurs are not understanding about crowdfunding is the convenience and the ability for viral marketing.

Been in the stands, since Mr. Burns coached... He, Anderson, Graber , fielded teams with a strategy to compete and sometimes win. That's all one can ask. Just not the case now, will not attend, wish the team well.

Best way to get the attention of the Administration. is to boycott home games. Don't buy tickets! Money is the key to all decisions. Hurt them where they can do the math, and Flood will go by the way that all failed coaches go....
BTW, Bob72 alluded to the perceived loyalty a fan base should have towards the teams, that they support. Well, IMHO that loyalty comes with a price. A commitment from the powers that be, that they in turn will provide the support and resources to produce winning teams. I believe that the politics of a University should NEVER be about providing unequaled support to any one program over another. UNLESS, that said program can reciprocate with financial incentives which will elevate other programs as well as their own. The RU football program should increase it's revenue output over the next few years. Especially, with B1G monies on the horizon. How this administration can sit on their hands while the very "goose with the golden eggs" slowly dies is beyond belief! When RU joined the B1G there was a certain amount of responsibility that followed that decision. And, I'm not talking about a facelift for the RAC.
Flood has hurt our revenue stream and it will only get worse.
Wake Up!
Loyalty gives, as loyalty does.

yes, because boycotting home games and having an empty stadium will do wonders for the morale of the team and for recruiting.

I agree..it sucks that it came to this. But I'm unhappy, and I'm not going to act like I love where we are headed with Flood.
