Talk about deflated..............I like Manning, but will be rooting for the Pats to get another ring. Belichick is the best ever and I want to see him and Brady prove all the critics wrong that they need deflated balls to win games.
Manning is the darth vader of football. He is like more machine than man. Hooked up to an iron lung and an IV filled with liquid HGH everyone around him begging him to quit. Meanwhile he limps out there and just finds a way to win. I'm pretty sure he did that sith lord choke thing to one of the Patriots assistants as he walked off the field.
You could not be more night and day with Peyton and Cam especially in the likability department.

That is true, one is black and young and one is white and old. One is "smart" and the other "athletic".

Agree its not about race, but Newton does do cool things that rent all bad.Has nothing to do with race and everything to do with personality and actions. Peyton is "Mr. Business" an old school type who doesn't get in your face or showboat. Cam Newton on the other hand, talks trash, showboats, celebrates constantly and is extremely cocky. He's even more disliked now than he was at Auburn.

Yes it does, if even its only subconsciously for most people. One is an old white guy that relies on "smarts" and one is a young cocky black guy that relies on "athleticism". The story practically writes itself. I mean can you think of two more different or differently perceived quarterbacks? Joe Namath vs. Unitas maybe?
The fact of the matter is that Manning simply doesn't have much left in the tank. His throws are generally wobbly and he seems to be getting more and more thin and frail every season that passes. Why would he want to risk another season and injuring himself permanently or even worse, having a super poor showing be his swan song?
I understand that he loves the game, but if he truly loved it then he'd want the quality of the talent on the field to be the best it could be, and he simply isn't as good as he was two seasons ago. His abilities are being limited by age and the longer he stays in the game, the more it hurts his legacy.
He has a lot to be happy about. He can end his career on the highest of highs. Not only is he a 2x Super Bowl champ (which puts him in elite company and is two more than Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, or even his dad, Archie ever won), but he's now tied with his brother with two rings apiece and there is almost ZERO chance that Eli even sniffs another Super Bowl in his playing career, let alone win one, so Peyton can be happy with the knowledge that he managed to not only go to four Super Bowls with four different coaches, but he won two of them with two different teams (the only time a starting QB has ever done that). He's also holds the record for career passing yards and career passing TD's, as well as most passing touchdowns for a season which are the two most coveted records by QB's (not to mention he holds a plethora of other passing records). What more can he accomplish?
Peyton is a shoe-in Hall of Famer and has shown a penchant for showmanship and for certain has a long and illustrious career behind the mic ahead of him as an NFL commentator. It's time to hand the ball off to the next generation and ride off into the sunset.
If he ever steps on the field as a player again he is a moron.
There's no doubt in my mind that pound for pound.. Manning over Brady. Brady had the defense and the coaching. Receivers are a push. Running game is maybe in Peyton's favor. Colts collapsed without Manning, Pats were fine without Brady.. Manning went #1 overall to a garbage team.. Brady went to a team that was just a QB away from being top5.
It's funny to see the one group of people, Pats fans, talk about how Manning needed a kicker and his defense to win the Superbowl for him. Seriously, New England/Boston might be the dumbest sports town in the nation.
If I'm choosing a QB to build a team around for 15 years, I'm going with Manning, at least for this generation of football. And it's not even close..
