wow, after saying he hoped to be back @ Auburn next year
why can't these kids just say the truth instead of playing games
He's testing the waters and maintaining eligibility, so he might be back. But at the moment things like that are said it is the truth. These kids are often riding the high of a really great and fun season and think they're coming back, but when reality sets in and they see their draft position and first contract they make the realistic decision.

Yeah and the decision is also influenced by the fact that 94% of your teammates won’t be back in that locker room next year.

NBA drafts on potential, which he has. He’s gone! Sorry, not sorry, Tigers.

Young folks change their minds from one day to the next?

No way!

I'm sure games a plenty are played but it is difficult to say when in the context of mercurial teens and young twenty somethings especially in the heat of any emotional moments.

They can easily be 100% earnest about how they feel on something tonight and be 100% out the next day after a talk with their agent, parents, high school coach, inner circle, talking to some person in line at Taco Bell, or even just see a random video on TikTok.

I can see these kids like Pettiford declare for the draft instead of the portal just to up the NIL ante if there's a chance he comes back to college. With that said, I have no idea what his draft prospects are but he seemed a little short to me for an NBA guard.
