After much research, I posted on the other thread, we should be the 1903 and 1921 champions, and laid out my very sound and quite profound logic.
It would be nice if we can find 2 more, so we could now suddenly have 4 nattys in football vs Clemson's 3.

I had this conversation with an auburn fan years ago. Apparently, Bama just claims years where they were undefeated or close to, and they say the local Alabama paper ranked them #1, so they claim it.
To Harvard's point, it would be totally cringe for a month or two, imo. But then look at Bama. Enough time goes by, and no one cares. They just have X number of banners.
Bama has won 10 national championships in my life time. Those weren't "add ons."
No, this guy was talking about old years, like 20's or 30's. Some of those years Bama was 5-0, and their local paper said "champion".
As a former Alabama fan I don't recognize those. 10 is still a big number. And they won at least one before The Bear. Auburn won one the year I was born and I remember them winning some kind of game against Oregon. I would prefer to win one before WE start adding ones.

That's true. As ridiculous as this is, it does seem to fit perfectly with the current state of college football.
