They got SCd on that call. SEC refs are crooked. Is one thing to miss a bang bang play, it’s another to make up phantom calls like we’ve had happen several times this year. One in particular game, it cost a victory.

Would have helped a good bit if Minnesota would have hung on to beat Penn State & Rutgers had beaten Illinois.
I posted that right after the call that went against them, so just commenting on what was happening at that time. Great game though, fun to watch and loved the result!
You obviously didn’t see it. Yeah, they got hosed. Luckily they won in the 4th overtime.
It comes down to one thing: that dropped snap on first down by A&M's quarterback on their last possession in regulation was one of the biggest miscues of all time. It took them out of control of the game and gave Auburn their last chance to get it into OT.
The luck came when that A&M QB dropped that snap near the end of regulation. Without that, it probably never even gets to OT.
Without the BS call, Auburn wins going away and it doesn’t even matter about the dropped snap
Why do you not give place to Providence? A mistake was made and it was subsequently negated, largely by means of the dropped snap. Providence.
Not only that call against Auburn... Did you see the blatant terrible call against Alabama for illegal touching?
I was completely SHOCKED that Bama had a call go against them at all... But that call was worse than the ones from the LSU steal we went through...
It negated a 40-yard pass and probably oncoming touchdown AND it was 4th down and gave the ball back to Oklahoma. That one play could have turned the game back around.... Everyone knows what a momentum swing can do in college sports....
The refs need to be disciplined... Let's not act like it's not professional sports money we are dealing with...

Providence was at work there also. That official, maybe the entire crew, will be sanctioned if not dismissed, for that. The Almighty saw a need for that to happen in a way that impacts many different people in particular ways.
But to your point, I think that was the most egregious misconduct by an official I have ever seen. According my understanding of the rules, the man upon whom the flag was thrown was not covered up, and the flag was thrown until the play had resulted in a touchdown. Not only incompetent but actually very suspicious.
But other officials besides the one who threw the flag must have been aware of the error. For one, there's a line judge on the other side of the field and a back judge in the secondary on that side of the field who should have been able to see it before the ball was snapped. That is to say that the officials should have been able to get the correct call "after discussion".
I suppose the excuse for the lateness of the flag will be that no illegal touching occurred until the ball was caught (which would be credible), but somebody has some 'splainin' to do about the "covered up" part of it.
Providence is always there but sometimes you have to look below the surface. Our team had early disappointments but reared up and fought because they saw their season slipping away.
Look at all these teams that started out strong in the league and are running on fumes now, including LSU, A&M, and Alabama. This team dug deep. I'd rather be us than them right now.
I don't even give emphasis to the playoff. A win at UPC would stamp this as an exceptional season.
