I like the look of the Alfa and going to start around $40K

The standard ones start around $40K, but the Quadrifoglio is closer to $80K. Quite a bit steeper. However, it's also 500 HP and essentially the same engine as the Ferrari California, just with two cylinders lopped off.

That's one of the reasons people are going nuts over it. It's basically an $80K Ferrari with all of the Alfa mystique. And, at least at first glance, it seems to be well made unlike Alfa's in the past.

To be honest though, I don't know much about the specs on a standard Giulia. The press has focused almost exclusively on the Quad. Those might be fantastic in their own right too.

Yup, the standard still has AWD with about 300 HP so better than majority of cars out there. For the price point it's a good deal. Then again for around 40K you can also get a new Audi RS3 with the same power, but I do like the look of the Alfa...

AWD doesn't do much for me. I know most people probably prefer it, but I still like RWD cars. 300 HP isn't bad though. And it is a sharp looking car.

Are those turbo-charged as well?

My wife bought an Audi earlier this year, kind of against my wishes. But, it was her "turn" to get what she wanted, and that was it. I must admit; the damn thing drives, rides and handles like a dream. Incredible vehicle and a sharp whip.
