Really good points regarding the who is number one discussion. As Mike said, who else out there could have beaten LWE and BR, both consensus number ones, in successive weeks? And, to have done that after shutting out MS at MS in the quarters! I do not believe that there is any other team out there that could have done that. Do those achievements alone make Loyola number one? No, but they are huge contributing factors.
And I agree they had a hell of a playoff run. However if you don't lose 3x you don't need to play such a tough playoff slate.
In which case, your argument would be that they had an easy playoff run and you would take the position that Simeon and Batavia were tougher opponents than whoever LA would have faced in the quarters or semis.
