Worst officiated game I have ever witnessed, DLS two other scores called back. Clippert threw 57 passes. Game should have never been that close

Pardon my ignorance... who's that?
Bo flowers went to Walther Lutheran back in 99-2002. Threw 90mph as a freshman. He was a man. Played in the minors for a few years before he went to u of I and played football there. Amazing athlete.

Stella - are you suggesting DLS should have won by a wider margin?

We're you at game cat box? DLS was a 4 score better team? Scored a TD to make it 35-8 and mysterious flag comes out.

Yes, I was at the game. It is fascinating, human nature, how different people see different things at the same event. We see what we want to see. I understand how your mind goes to 35-8 and thinks the game becomes a blowout. A school with 1000 kids should steamroll at school with 235 kids.

My mind looks at the 4 turnovers AC committed. AC was moving the ball easily against DLS but drives were cut short with turnovers - not so much that DLS was stopping AC. Teams need to "finish" drives. AC has struggled with that this year. The other knock on AC is their inability to tackle. Broken tackle after broken tackle resulted in DLS sustaining drives. Then DLS would inevitably break a big play. In the 3rd quarter and early 4th, it really looked like AC would never stop DLS. Credit to DLS for a balanced offense.

The knock on DLS is a massive O-line that should be much better than they are. They should have totally overpowered AC and didn't. I also think DLS got outcoached. How does a much smaller team down 28-8 on the road with 6:30 remaining find themselves in the lead 29-28 with 2:30 remaining? The officials?

If the turnover margin is equal, AC wins the game easily. AC with minus 3 turnover ratio allowed DLS to pull away until AC goes on their furious comeback. What was it like watching DLS implode in the 4th quarter?

Ask Dave Beebe what he thought of the officiating??? The score could have 3-0 or 100-99, AC still lost and I hope the ride from 77th street was enjoyable. Have fun In Your new conference

Just a couple of random thoughts on DLS-AC game from last Friday night...

1. Yeah, DLS may have 930 kids, but just under 50 percent are young women, thus they don't play football. However, the young women's volleyball program is damn good. Girls basketball, softball and soccer are also strong as well. Girls track and cross country are also competitive.

2. AC's quarterback is a helluva player. The young man throws a nice ball, is smart and athletic and can run. Some D-2 or D-3 school is going to get themselves an absolute steal next season.

3. The officiating stunk for DLS. The officiating stunk for AC. The officiating stunk for both teams. Just not good.

4. Citing the turnover ratio is important, but AC had its opportunity to win. Stop DLS with two minutes remaining from driving down the field and you win the football game. They didn't.

5. And yeah, DLS may have imploded as you say in the 4Q, but our kids showed a great amount of temerity to come back and win.

Great win for our kids against a quality opponent and I hope both teams are successful for the rest of the season and in the playoffs.

Well said. Agree 100%.
For sure one of the most exciting football games I've seen in a few years.
