It's sad. Really is. It won't stop either. Houston I guess is next. While Sam Houston never swore his allegiance to the Conferderacy, he did own slaves.
Sanitizing history won't undue the stain of slavery on our heritage and what democratic country in the world today doesn't have a tainted past ?

What country in the World doesn't have a tainted history is the better question.
In a non-democratic country, slavery and other forms of repression are more prevalent than in democracies.
Unlike other democracies, we ended our slavery through a horrific war that cost over 620,000 lives and with "fallout" still lingering...and escalating... 153 years later.

Speaking of the Civil War... I’m looking forward to seeing Dinesh D’Souza’s movie, Death of a Nation tomorrow.

It amazes me how we as an educated people have allowed our history to be written. Shocking actually.

It will be interesting to see how today’s happenings will be recorded historically. Unfortunately.....but I digress.
