Safe to say that our boys from Newland should be the odds on favorite for best team in the old western highlands ? Heritage has lost a lot….Coach Robinsons last year ?

I'd say Heritage has enough coming back to still be the favorites but Mitchell and Hendo will still be in the mix, way too early to say but I'd go...

No troll here Man. It’s what I believe. Is Coach Robinson gone? You have Mitchell waaaaaaay to high.
I would put Hendo 2 nd , coin flip between Mitchell and Avery , Polk
1 hundo percent. I know what we have coming back next year. I also know what we are adding from Hampton and Roan Mountain. Mitchell is done. Done. They have nothing coming up from middle school up. We do. Heritage will remain good until Coach Robinsons influence declines. Tough kids. Sad what has happened to Owen. How do you get that bad with that location!? Madison improved, and will actually put them ahead of the boys from Ledger on coaching and scheme alone. Our coach finally showed some growth towards the end of the year. The Mitchell game turned the entire program around. Kids and community are excited. Glad to not get our teeth kicked in going forward.
So you think Cloudland players are going to Avery next year and Hampton. Before you answer this my Daughter goes to Cloudland
I hope Avery has a break out year adding some much needed nuance to the conference but honestly I didn't see anything from them that tells me they should be the favorite, in their game with Heritage Heritage could have beat them 71-0 if they wanted to, in Heritages game with Mitchell the game could have honestly been closer had Mitchell not turned it over in the red zone two or three times, I really think that Avery-Mitchell game was an anomaly where Mitchell didn't play very well and Avery played the best they could, Mitchell should be a lot better this year, Heritage might take a step back but should still be pretty good, all that said I could be wrong Avery might go to state at very least I hope they are more competitive because the last few years the bottom half of the conference has been pretty terrible.

Thanks man. Everyone thinks it was anomaly side they weren’t there. We dominated from the start. We have always been more physical than Mitchell just didn’t have the numbers. Had a big number come out on JV and now, Dogtown is starting to send their kids. Heritage is a different animal. The program is healthy. Got a nephew that plays on the middle school team in Avery and was shocked and the low numbers at the beginning of the season. Heritage had 35-40 kids, so did Avery and so did Madison. I think I counted 13 kids on the team from Mitchell. Something isn’t right. They
Have had one of the best teams in Western North Carolina in the last 15 years why the numbers are so low? Something to look at ?
I agree with you about the Vikings, I think the program has finally turned the corner . You guys have excellent young coach , I even notice the culture was changing at the youth league level. I have heard rumors about players from cloundland interested coming to Avery .

Can you tell us what the situation is over at Hampton? I passed through there recently and it looked like they were working on their field after some flood damage.
My wife is a principal in the county. Don’t know what they will do. I’m sure the Hampton people want them to fix the school. The actual school didn’t get a lot of damage. Hampton kids are using an old school outside of Elizabethton right now. They might build a school for Hampton/Cloudland. Rumors they might build one big high school have been out there.
Hampton has been playing Basketball games at Hampton Elementary.
It’s shame Carter county want spend the money and build new schools, those kids need new school.
A lot money is tied up in the Hunter Project right now. They are adding to Hunter Elementary making it better and nicer. When that happens Unaka elementary will probably close
Those turnovers Mitchell served up against Heritage? If they’d taken those snack-sized chances, the scoreboard might’ve flipped like a pancake at breakfast! Avery was out there vibin' against Mitchell like it was a championship BBQ, while Mitchell was trippin' like a toddler on roller skates! Hard to tell if they’re just a bunch of jokers or actual ballers, lol!
Reason mit had turnovers heritage dominate up front Mitchell could not move the ball, so they went to the passing game . I watch both Avery and Mitchell play to be honest I wasn’t surprise Avery beat them .
Heritage would've still scored on Mitchell but it would've been much closer than a running clock
