The big game this week is OSU v Oregon. So, why isn't that the 12pm game? Why are they airing Washington v Iowa?

Underlying question is really about Fox always ruining our Whiteout games. I know the OSU game is out west. I'm just frustrated that we haven't had the chance to use our biggest home field advantage since this tv deal was signed.

This isn't difficult. There isn't a school in America that will agree to a 9:00 am (local) kickoff.

The TV contract means that different networks get to pick in different spots each week. NBC obviously had the first choice of games this weekend...FOX doesn't get the first choice every week. And, as PSUFBFAN noted, the West Coast teams have reportedly been given assurances that they won't need to host any noon Eastern games.

I understand and mentioned as much. I'm just pissed our biggest game is never at night anymore. This may be Oregon and OSU's biggest game of the year and somehow they end up on NBC at night. When is it our turn to have our biggest game at night?

Actually, the Oregon/OSU game is at 4:30 pm local time. I'm not sure that meets a definition of "night", but to each their own.

Not to mention that Ohio St fans (and the networks I’m sure) will tell you that their biggest game will most likely be at noon.

There are schools in America that won't agree to Friday night games as well (like PSU). Why can't schools refuse noon games for certain opponents?

If we're willing to give back a crapton of $ to the networks/conference, we likely could.

We are 9-6 in full stadium Whiteout games so I wouldn’t call that our biggest home field advantage.

How many of those games were we favored in? How many of those games were closer than predicted? If we played Bama in a Whiteout every year we'd lose a bunch of those games too but it doesn't mean the Whiteout didn't have a noticeable positive effect on the game for PSU.
