The fact that neither are even top 3 seeds in the NIT suggests they weren’t even close to being on the bubble
Why, because some derelict placed them there ? Just because they ended up under seeded, doesn't make it right.

Not sure they are overthinking. Just using or ignoring metrics on a case by case basis to get the result they want.
What they are doing is picking who they want in.
Then they look through their schedule and find whatever metric argument they can to rationalize it.
Then they look at who is flirting but they dont want in, and do the same thing.

I realize thats what fans do too, but as has been said numerous times, the arguments dont even have to include Nebraska and it was still a horrible field. Plus they are supposed to be unbiased. Nope.

Guess if we beat Kansas like ASU did we would be in.
No we wouldnt be.
There are 16 teams ahead of us. 1 more win against anyone isnt going to vault us enough.
The committee didnt want Nebraska in, plain and simple. Not just this team, but nebraska period.

Agree these little schools that make the tourney is insane. Especially the 16 and 15 seeds. Get rid of those and use those spots to give 8 teams that could actually do something in the tourney. Not fair that teams like USC, Okla St, Penn St and Nebraska get bumped because Limbscomb, Iona, UMBC ect get in. Have the NIT be for those type of schools.
No.
You dont have to. You shouldnt have to do that to get a reasonable field that includes common sense.
What you are proposing lets these guys off the hook.
This shouldnt be THAT difficult.

Agree wholeheartedly. Just using Nebraska and Oklahoma as an example, if you just switched the names of the school - and kept the same credentials for each - I can 99.99% guaranty the committee would still pick Oklahoma (with Nebraska's credentials). The Committee would say that going 13-5 and getting 4th in a P5 conference was better than going 4-11 in the past 15 games, and finishing in the bottom of the B12 conference.

I looked at ASU Schedule and its not all that impressive compared to NU other than the win at Kansas vs Xaiver (back in Nov and Dec) and they finished tied for 8th in an even "weaker" conference.

I understand.
I stand by my claim.
The NCAA hated us so much, a win vs ku would not have mattered. **** they tried keepin us out of the NIT!
