Auburn always has that one guy on their team that is a cancer and prevents them from going as far as they could have. Last couple years it was that chubby little guard, KD Johnson. This year it was Baker-Mazzara.
Just because coach bruce pearl is not a nice person as well

If coach is a bad person, he is more likely to recruit players with bad personalities

On the contrary, our last season's team filled with nice guys

I know but we need like a for sure guy who can shoot, that’s the dilemma. Since dame sarr cut ties with Barca, if I were Kentucky I would try to get him on campus and just see what he is wanting. Sarr is better than every player we have mentioned so far.
Sarr may be top 10 draft pick next year and difference maker

We will see how his recruitment goes

BP creates a very thuggish culture, always has and CBM was more than happy to buy into that, but, that culture can turn around and eat you. CBM is exhibit A for that.

I think Pope has created a better culture, but, it's still very dicey. Garrison walked that tight rope a few times last season.

I bet you Pope loves CBM. Id be surprised if we don’t get involved here.
Guys, no player ever attended Kentucky with a worse reputation than Cousins did. He turned out to be one of the most popular players ever here.

CBM is a terror on defense, good handler of the ball, a great clutch player and a winner, shot over 40% from three for his career, and 89% plus from free throws for his career.

Obviously, he can compete in the conference against the elite athletes. Take him, take him, take him.

Cousins was a kid when he played at Kentucky.
CBM will turn 26 next season. He’s an ******* of the highest level, the worst in college basketball. He should be showing some loyalty to Pearl and Auburn at this point but not that guy. Please keep him far away from our proud program, he’s a stain that won’t wash out easily.

I would take him but do wonder why he left. If he's looking for huge money IMO he's not worth it.

I’m a Bengals fan. It would be like the year they signed Terrell Owens. I rooted fornthe team but wasn’t happy he was on it.

I’d be like that with Baker-Mazara here.
If CBM ends up at Kentucky, he will be an all-time favorite here. I expect Pope loves him because of the passion CBM has for the game, how deeply he fights for his teammates and he plays a very unselfish on-court game with excellent versatility.

I don’t know that he would end up here but I’m telling y’all — Pope might like this fit more than y’all think. Pope looks at what motivates a player and he loves guys that have that underdog, back against the wall, point to prove mentality. Let’s see what happens here.

In one way, he would objectively be a very significant final piece to a nearly complete roster. He plays hard. In the way I think about the most though, this is more than likely his last chance to make big money playing basketball. After next year, he’d get UDFA looks to see if he could be an immediate contributor (and that’s really his only way into the league is to get that chance and catch on immediately). So, he likely plays a year or two in the G, goes and makes a respectable bag overseas for 3-4 years. By then he’s already 32 and probably hanging them up. So id say there’s a 90% chance this is his peak earnings year.

Point is, he has to capitalize on this moment. Pearl talked his eligibility up all year, basically bragging they’d have him back. Or maybe Pearl was doing him a solid and raising his profile for free agency?

I say all that to say…pass, but I’d be right on board if Pope thought he was a fit.

If he actually ends up going elsewhere (this smells to me like he signed a deal, didn't like hearing how much Auburn is paying a player they brought in via the Portal like Hall from UCF and is using this as a negotiating tactic) I could see:

Illinois (Antigua was recruiting him for UK when he was in Juco)
Arkansas (Chuck Martin was recruiting him at Oregon before he got to UK)
Gonzaga (That program is fading like a dog-they'll take anyone with a pulse interested)
USC (Muss doesn't give 2 ****s about what people think)
UCLA (Cronin is desperate to win to keep his job and keep the allusion he can pick another job)
Villanova (Kevin Willard was a terrible hire and needs players)
Miami FL (Jai Lucas is a tool)

This dude has Cal and Arkansas written all over him. Just like Cousins. Mental maturity of a 3 year old.

If we want to win some games and get farther than the Sweet Sixteen we definitely get involved. This kid can play!

I guess he can ask for extra game tickets as part of the deal, so that his grandkids can come watch him play ball.

He is a guard. Career 40% 3FG shooter. He is the exact type of player you hate, unless he plays for your team. Hell yes, I would take him.

He's 6'7. And if he's really going to play SG here, we kind of already have that locked up. As for his 3pt shooting, he only averages 3 per game, which isn't bad.. but if we're REALLY trying to get a 3pt shooter, I think there's better fits. CBM is going to expect to start at this point in his career, so I'll bet anything that the most he does is use us for NIL leverage and then goes to like, Uconn or something.

Thanks for the compliment, but I'm no different than anyone else, a lot of great people talking basketball on this board (despite the **** it takes from outside)

I'm a fan of Jaiden Glover and have been since his JR year in HS. Also would kick the tires on Cade Tyson as I think he'd fit a great role in Pope's style of play and wasn't utilized correctly once UNC couldn't get a big man last year. I'm sure there are several other guys from Mid Major level that I've only seen once or twice or not at all that would be great fits as well. I like Glover because I think he could push for minutes in this system and be a big time player after Oweh leaves. Has good size/athleticism and can shoot the ball. Very surprised he was in the Portal and leaving St. John's after a year. One thing we do know-if it's for something bad--Pitino would let Pope know.

I'm really excited about the roster and next year's team. While everyone gets excited about newcomers, it's the holdovers development that will be key-if Chandler can build off the end of this year and take a jump to consistent 8-10 PPG player...that would be huge. Jasper Johnson should be great in not having to be the man--so he'll be in a situation where he played his best basketball (Team Thad prior to his JR year when he shared court with guys like Quaintance, Philon, etc....). Frontcourt is more suited athleticism wise for the SEC too.

Gonzaga will have Graham Ike back and they return 3 guys that had season ending injuries. They’ll be sneaky good imo. Need more players though.
