We have our front court set with Moreno, Garrison, JQ, and Andrija (I'd like another true Center, maybe in a backup role, with JQ out, but we're fine otherwise). We are good on the 5 and 4 spots. This is arguably our deepest area and an area we don't need to recruit on for 2026.

We have our wings pretty much set with Kam Willaims, Dioubate (who are big enough to move into the front court in a pinch), and Oweh. Jasper Johnson certainly can play a wing spot/SG. Could we use another, one that hits 3s well? Sure, it would be nice.

What is sort of lacking is true guard play as Lewis is now gone. All we have is Lowe and Johnson (who I'm a little skeptical of being PG if Lowe gets injured, as he's young).. and then Perry and Chandler as reserves, who really aren't cut out for PG duties at this time.

So for me, what we need is another PG who can shoot the 3 at a decent clip. And if he can double as a combo guard with some height? Even better. Give me that and we're set. Last piece in my eyes.

Auburn always has that one guy on their team that is a cancer and prevents them from going as far as they could have. Last couple years it was that chubby little guard, KD Johnson. This year it was Baker-Mazzara.

Umm … Auburn reached the final four and Baker Mazara had an excellent FF game … so that loss can’t logically be blamed on him. So how exactly is he the “one guy” to blame for Auburn supposedly not “going as far as they could have?”

Your take is wholly disconnected from factual reality.

Gonzaga will have Graham Ike back and they return 3 guys that had season ending injuries. They’ll be sneaky good imo. Need more players though.
I've heard this for 3 straight years now. It's right up there with Greenberg saying in late Jan/early Feb "This is Cal's best coaching job".

Graham Ike can't go right and he's played CBB for 5/6 yrs. Remember after the opener when they pounded Scott Drew and his 6'6 and under team the question was "Is this the best Zags team of all time?". That was quickly put to rest and they lost every high profile game they had until the Annual Conference Championship game vs St. Mary's.

Few is on fumes---that program not having a legit Conference is killing them and his best chance was the Covid/Suggs team IMO.

If you are correct, I'll be more than happy to give you full credit and admit I was wrong. Just feels like a stale/missed their chance window under Few right now.

Pass. Not worth the risk, and we certainly don't need anymore SF-types. We're good from 6'4 to 6'9...
We have 15 scholarships now, so the goal should be to have a player of each height from 5’10” to 7’. We can have them stand together during pregame warm ups and form a perfect line.

They will all have to shave their heads though. That might hurt recruiting.

Cousins was a kid when he played at Kentucky.
CBM will turn 26 next season. He’s an ******* of the highest level, the worst in college basketball. He should be showing some loyalty to Pearl and Auburn at this point but not that guy. Please keep him far away from our proud program, he’s a stain that won’t wash out easily.
I don't know Pope seems to have a way to relate to these guys maybe just maybe Pope can change this guys attitude in a season. Then again we need someone that wants to get nasty or should I say plays with a chip on their shoulders.

From purely a basketball standpoint, he makes perfect sense and exactly what we need. It would all be dependent on his attitude.

He's a GREAT teammate. His teammates love him. It's just the opponents that don't like him.

He is also a GREAT defender. Like a very, very good defender on the wing.

He is literally EXACTLY what we need.

Be kind of funny seeing the backtracking on this board if Pope reeled him in.
I never ever backtrack — there have been several Cats I dislike and still do .. Cousins is prime example number 1 … didn’t like him years ago and still don’t
Guys, no player ever attended Kentucky with a worse reputation than Cousins did. He turned out to be one of the most popular players ever here.

CBM is a terror on defense, good handler of the ball, a great clutch player and a winner, shot over 40% from three for his career, and 89% plus from free throws for his career.

Obviously, he can compete in the conference against the elite athletes. Take him, take him, take him.
Big D you are the last person on earth I’d pick to want CBM … I guess your burning passion for # 9 overrides how bad a guy this is ? lol … I get it
This dude has Cal and Arkansas written all over him. Just like Cousins. Mental maturity of a 3 year old.
See above … I’d prefer anyone over this guy .. hopefully it’s Sarr

Auburn always seems to have the biggest punk in the SEC on their team!

Stats notwithstanding, it’s a little thing called karma. You may not believe in it, but I do.

He's 6'7. And if he's really going to play SG here, we kind of already have that locked up. As for his 3pt shooting, he only averages 3 per game, which isn't bad.. but if we're REALLY trying to get a 3pt shooter, I think there's better fits. CBM is going to expect to start at this point in his career, so I'll bet anything that the most he does is use us for NIL leverage and then goes to like, Uconn or something.
What do you think Wilkerson would have played ? Baker-Mazara only played about 23 minutes per game, Auburn was LOADED at guard and wing spots. He would fit in perfectly. He actually shot 4.1 per game, making 1.6. Auburn had 5 guards who averaged DD's in points. He was the second leading scorer. 89% free throw shooter, 51% on 2FG's. 3 rpg / 2.7 assist / 1.2 steals and .60 blocks per game. Could do a LOT worse. Brea and Robinson where BOTH in the 6-7 range and neither could guard a fence post.

It's crazy that people don't want him.
He lost his team their entire season two years ago when he got ejected against Yale in the first round of the NCAA’s for an egregious cheap shot and they lost as a #4 seed. Risk is about calculating and managing it and this guy can’t control himself or his urges regardless how important a moment it is.

I bet he never intends on leaving Auburn. This will give him a nice raise, build up hype, anticipation for other fanbases and have the Auburn fans sitting on pins and needles for a few weeks.

Then he'll drop the "I'M RETURNING TO THE PLAINS!!! WDE!!!" tweet with a fancy video edit. Auburn fans rejoice. Bruce Pearl cries tears of joy.

Not buying this one at all.

Truthfully, and I can pull the post if need be.. but I wasnt big on landing him either before he ennounced he was going to IU. Great player, nothing against him.. but I think we're already a little crowded at the wing spot. That being said, I think Wilkerson was a better fit than CMB, because Wilk shoots almost double the 3pa per game. Wilkerson also clearly wanted the ball at all times, and I don't think that's what we're trying to build.

He hit 59 3s last year, which would have been third on the team, by a WIDE margin.

Ike has no eligibility left, he is not coming back to Gonzaga, Huff is, Ike isn't.

The freshman Pettiford cost Auburn the game. Poor kid, I was screaming for Pearl to get him out, had 3 turnovers in about a 5 minute span (could have a couple others), missed several shots, took very bad shots, got absolutely washed like a dirty dish on defense. Baker-Mazara had 18 points (4/7 3s) and 4 steals, he was hardly the reason they lost.

So the karma gods decide who wins titles based on who’s naughty and nice?

So that’s why that sweet little teddy bear Danny Hurley was given two straight titles! Thanks for enlightening me.

Karma doesn’t decide everything, nor does logic and reason. The universe is a healthy mix of both. Fwiw, not that I should dignify your predictably condescending post, but Hurley wasn’t 1/10th the ******* he is now until he got his titles.
