Would PBJ's skill set mesh with our team? If so, is there a chance of getting father and son back in Evanston? I am reading a long article in The Athletic on Wake Forest's success on the court this year. Their coaching staff appears to have used the transfer portal quite well to resurrect a moribund program.Junior is rumored to be heading to Madison.
Link to anything stating this? Or is it just a “word on the street” thing?Junior is rumored to be heading to Madison.
I think the question related to the alleged rumor of PBJ heading to Madison, not to the fact that PBS got fired.
Forget that. Why would he want to come play for a team that has proven to not know how to win? He'd be adding a mistake to the one he made last yearWould PBJ's skill set mesh with our team? If I were a betting man, since he is still projected as a first-round pick, I would wager that PBJ will be going pro. Why risk another season with a possible injury for his stock to drop out of the first round? A first-round pick comes with guarantees.Junior is rumored to be heading to Madison.
I bet he's no longer a first round pick.If I were a betting man, since he is still projected as a first-round pick, I would wager that PBJ will be going pro. Why risk another season with a possible injury for his stock to drop out of the first round? A first-round pick comes with guarantees.
Anyone but James.Even if they both wanted to come to Northwestern as a package deal who would Collins let go on the coaching staff is the better question?
Wouldn't mind Borovich being shown the door, not sure what he's brought to the team at all since he arrived 3 years ago.Even if they both wanted to come to Northwestern as a package deal who would Collins let go on the coaching staff is the better question?
Yeah, all the projections I've seen still have him as a first-rounder. I presume the scouts still see something they like. Why jeopardize that with another season in college?Bleacher Report has him at No.24 to the Nets.
Paging ECat
Not sure I follow you here. You know we’re in a bad spot when UWM is more willing to find a winner than we are.
They gave PB only 5 years and cut him loose after realizing it wasn’t going to work. None of the cushion we give people at NU.Not sure I follow you here.
It’s now been 5 years since we made it to the NCAA (for the first time ever…). Let’s see where it plays out from here, maybe? They gave PB only 5 years and cut him loose after realizing it wasn’t going to work. None of the cushion we give people at NU.
Don't think he showed anything this year that indicates he is a sure first rounder. He might need to show somethingIf I were a betting man, since he is still projected as a first-round pick, I would wager that PBJ will be going pro. Wasn't their performance worse than ours? You know we’re in a bad spot when UWM is more willing to find a winner than we are.
PBJ was solid as an assistant but not so much as HCTHe staff that CCC had was pretty good at the time but has been pretty lackluster since. Not sure if it was the loss of PBS or something else but maybe worth finding outLove to have Dad back on the staff, but not sure about PBJ. Do we really need another long, thin, soft player that can’t compete under the basket with the men of the B1G?
we need to get Ryan Young more help. PBJ isn’t it, IMHO.
Were you able to watch a full game of Baldwin Jr. this year?Love to have Dad back on the staff, but not sure about PBJ. Do we really need another long, thin, soft player that can’t compete under the basket with the men of the B1G?

I cannot imagine a scenario in which a heretofore presumed lottery pick would want to rehabilitate his reputation by playing for CCC. If he decides on another year of college, he will do the Brandon Joseph route and go to Top 10 team. Were you able to watch a full game if Baldwin Jr. this year?
I ask because I thought it was abundantly clear he was the highest calibre athlete on the floor in all his games, including the 2nd half obliteration at the hands if Florida. He didn’t put up crazy numbers in many of his games. There was so much put on his plate as a true freshman and coming off a fairly sizable injury sustained earlier in 2021, it’s not surprising he struggled.
NU would be estatic to land PBJ if he were to return to college and hit the portal. Just the discussing a sceanrio where the Baldwins return to Evanston should excite us all.
Definitely unlikely, but not impossible if he doesn’t get the feedback he’s hoping in the pre-draft process and wants to follow his dad. I wouldn’t completely dismiss their connection to Evanston. It’s strong.I cannot imagine a scenario in which a heretofore presumed lottery pick would want to rehabilitate his reputation by playing for CCC. CCC was his third choice last year, so it’s within the realm of possibility. Downside for him is that he plays the same game as Nance, so he’d have to be a center at NU.I cannot imagine a scenario in which a heretofore presumed lottery pick would want to rehabilitate his reputation by playing for CCC. Not really, because we'd have 3 other centers on the roster, including Young, Hunger and you-know-who.CCC was his third choice last year, so it’s within the realm of possibility. Downside for him is that he plays the same game as Nance, so he’d have to be a center at NU.
I know, but…Not really, because we'd have 3 other centers on the roster, including Young, Hunger and you-know-who.
Totally. Two of them isn't enough, but a third makes all the difference. Not really, because we'd have 3 other centers on the roster, including Young, Hunger and you-know-who.
Because he'd want to play for a team that has tournament potentialSo with Coach K retiring, if Baldwin returns for one more year and transfers - why not NU?
There are a million reasons why not. There is only one reason why yes: an irrational attachment to the institutionSo with Coach K retiring, if Baldwin returns for one more year and transfers - why not NU?
Lol. We’re so stacked that we can turn away first-round talentLove to have Dad back on the staff, but not sure about PBJ. Do we really need another long, thin, soft player that can’t compete under the basket with the men of the B1G?

Yes, this roster is oozing with potential first round talent. Just got to get them on the court.Lol. We’re so stacked that we can turn away first-round talent![]()
DeAndre Gholsten, probably UM's best player, is transferring to Mizzou......Expected to be headed to Mizzou as an assistant. Assume Jr will follow if he stays in college.
Correct. Armon Gates is assumed to be joining the staff too obviously. I don’t think there’s anything confirmed just reading what seem like clear signsDeAndre Gholsten, probably UM's best player, is transferring to Mezzo......
