Why would we have reservations about shooting down a Chinese aircraft (no matter what form) which has violated our airspace? We have no idea what weapons or destructive capabilities (EMP, chemical/viral weapons, etc.) the "balloon" has but we know it was not a "weather balloon". Shoot it down upon detection and gather the intelligence from the remains. Protecting the country from outside invaders takes precedence over collateral damage.
Testing a delivery method for many destructive things (EMP, Bio-Weapons, etc.), not necessarily intel, to gauge our reaction.
If you to believe what the government/news said that they was jamming it anyways and it was rendered useless .. no need to take a chance.

You do know that ballots are tracked, correct? Counties have a voter registration database and use this system to track the mail ballots that are sent out and returned. When the ballots are returned they scan the barcode on the envelope and it’s compared to the name etc of the voter. Do you really think that they do not track the number of ballots sent and returned as well as the ballots themselves? They are not printed on copy paper and have watermarks and specific ballot markings that encrypt the ballot. The system knows if it actually printed that specific ballot to put it simply. I would suggest that you volunteer at an elections office for the next election so you can learn how it works and all of the security that’s in place as well as the checks and balances that all take place during an election instead of believing in conspiracy theories that have no legitimate basis in reality. I worked in the elections industry for over 10 years for various vendors. I am not involved in it anymore but when I see statements like yours it makes my blood boil because you have no idea how any of this works but you believe a blow hard like a pillow guy and trump. It absolutely blows my mind that people can be this easily manipulated.
