Up a whopping 37 spots to the 66th ranked player in the nation in the latest 247 2020 rankings and now a mid 4-star there!

So much for an NU commitment having a negative impact on a player's ranking...

Wow! That's really saying something. If that's the case, then he will be ranked significantly higher than Beran, who I believe was around top 100ish

Bam has one of the better highlights I've seen for an NU recruit. And I like what his coach says about his work ethic and burning desire to improve his game.

Of course, rankings aside, you can't tell until these recruits actually suit up and get their nose punched in a B1G game. Another great highlight ? Johnny Vassar. As the great philosopher Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the nose.

247 gives two rankings for each player. They give a 247 ranking and a composite ranking.

Here are Beran's rankings: Composite 105, 247 Ranking 56.

247 typically ranks NU recruits higher then their composite.

Bamisille: Composite 216, 247 Ranking 66.

Nance was Composite 88 and Kopp was 115. Both were in the 60s for 247 and I think they had Kopp higher than Nance. You get the picture, there can be a wide disparity between 247 and the others and 247 likes NU recruits.

IMHO - Joe B. and Beran both have better video than Kopp and Nance. Kopp's was better than Nance's. Boo Buie has a solid collection of film out there that shows a creative scorer. Ryan Young's tape is solid and Jared Jones and Greer both had solid film. One thing, if you watch any of these guys' tapes, they never missed in high school so I think most of the shooting issues they have at NU must be coaching ;)

Thanks for the clarification! It was surprising to see such a wide gulf between Bam and Beran, but I didn't realize Bam's 66 ranking was not his composite score.

Also, having a composite score in the 200s while a 247 score of 66 seems like a huge discrepancy right??

Rivals has him at 106. ESPN has him super low for some reason. He has a 0.94 rank on TOS, vs a 0.81 on ESPN

Probably because ESPN has not updated their rankings in awhile. 247 just did yesterday, hence the huge bump...

ESPN and 247 are on different scales. For instance NU recruit DJ Steward is a 96 on 247 and a 84 on ESPN. The 100th ranked guy on ESPN is a 82, so Bam will be in the low 100’s on ESPN.

Composite probably hasn’t been recalculated.
