The unspeakable ignominy of the SEC is terrible to contemplate. And this is a league that expects a fistful of playoff teams.
Started two years ago; gathered steam last year; running balls-to-the wall as of today.
Well, Bama had cut it to one score with plenty of time left so who knew at that point
They don't have Saban-era toughness or resiliency. The decline was evident last year. They can't play from behind on the road. No Tua, no Hurts, no Najee Harris, no Amari Cooper - no vestige of any of them.
The reputation of SEC for week 1 rests with us and LSU. Texas and Alabama flopped.

Well, Tennessee had no real trouble with their ACC opponent and Auburn, who needed some success in a bad way, got a nice road win at Baylor last night.The reputation of SEC for week 1 rests with us and LSU. Texas and Alabama flopped.

Looks like the Taters are benefiting from some home cookin. The refs denied LSU a TD, and then LSU missed the consolation prize FG attempt.
I would love to see the meltdown on the Bama boards this morning, and of course Finebaum, no doubt on a crying jag.

Bama fans don't have anything in their life but football. This is more than a blip, it's a serious downgrade. They won't let this go on long, regardless of the buyout.
The reality of the situation is that when you break it down to basics, fans do not make not or have to or deal with the consequences of those kind of decesions.
Bama of course has the resources to pay off an early payout, but barring a complete collapse (6-6 or worse) it would be doubtful a major change of direction would happen so soon.
Probably the last time they felt this way was when Mike Shula was their coach.
Franchione and Curry weren't great shakes, either, but our beating them down there greased the deal with Shula.
