Congrats to one ex coach in Heupel, now lets hope another gets his *** kicked Go Utes
USC averaging 13 yards per play against Utah midway through the second quarter. Looks like UCLA might be the only potential obstacle to keep USC out of the playoff.

Utes go for two in the last minute and beat USC 43-42. That made me as happy as the win over the Jayhawks.
Oh today was a very good day. Not only in CFB seeing Bama and USC lose, but also watching the Dodgers go down in flames. Now the weekend will be complete if the Yankees go down also. Being a Giants fan and seeing those 111 wins by the Dodgers mean little just warms my heart.

Kind of ticked we ran Josh off, and OU's relationship with him is strained. Josh would have "one day" walked through hot coals to be OU's next coach. Now, not so much.

Yes hindsight 20/20, TBOW was hired to replace Josh. If Josh was not fired hes now the head coach at OU, and the mass exodus of recruits would not have happened. BV will get us there if this recruiting class can stay intact.

This assumes Heupel would have been doing better than Venables after 7 games.
Unless Heupel had sweet-talked Caleb Williams to remain at OU, I can't accept that assumption.

Josh sucked when he was at OU. It was his own fault. I'm pretty sure most of the OU fan base still love the guy though and I hate that it ended on bad terms. Glad to see he has grown as a coach and is finding success.

Who knows what Josh would have done with Mayfield, and then Murray at QB. Maybe OU wins one of those playoff games with him calling plays. Riley had much better QB play than Josh had. I have always liked Josh, if we had a better defense at the end of the Stoops era the offense wouldnt have looked as bad and Josh would have stayed at OU.

Riley was a better OC at OU than Josh was. But I suspect long term, Josh will be a better head coach. Time will tell. He put UCF into a great position, and what he's done at UTenn is phenomenal. But I'm not sure the chirpers at OU would have allowed him to ever have the chance, here.

Riley is a really smart guy. He might be as good as any OC in the NFL at that job. There seemed to be a glitch is his makeup as OU's HC. Even though he's smart and talented, I'm glad he's gone. He's not the man I was led to believe he was, when he was here. He may do great at USC.

Sleaze catches up with a man. From all present indications, LR has more than a little sleazy in his private resume'. It will eventually show up. In Hollywood. They're so used to people like that out there, he might actually survive there.

Yeah, maybe OU beats LSU 70-63 if Heupel is calling the plays.

OU's Achilles heel for at least the past decade in postseason play has been its lack of championship caliber defense.
Giving up point totals of 63, 45, 54, 37 and 40 (an average of 48 points per game) reflect an alarming inability to recruit defensively which, given OU's legacy, is flat out inexcusable.
This trend has to change dramatically and quickly if OU is to return to being a "blue blood" program and compete in the SEC.
Arena style offenses are fun and exciting to watch, especially if you're watching OU play UConn, Iowa, or decimated teams like Florida and Oregon in the postseason, but they are null and void beating playoff team.
I believe Venables knows this and has started recruiting to address OU's defensive issues, but it will take at least two more years to buck the trend of having such porous defenses.

The offense that Josh ran at UCF and is running at Tennessee is not the same as what he put up at OU. Apples and Oranges. Josh got fired because of very poor performance. OU may be a contributor to his success today.
