There is an all sports banquet in May...but I believe that is invite only at this point.

They are pairing it with the annual Scholarship Reception on the same day as 2 separate events.

As I seem to recall there really hasn't been a banquet just for the basketball team since Mike Rice's first year. I still feel bad for the kids. I always felt that the team should have an award's dinner after every season no matter what the record is.

Can't really answer why...although I'm sure costs have at least something to do with it. Nobody pays to go to these things and they aren't free.

The last basketball banquet we had was Rice's first year. Mike told me himself that there wouldn't be another one till the team had something to celebrate. That's sort of been the way its gone since...
