He's not going into the details because IMHO he now thinks he made another huge mistake.
He certainly seems awful touchy for something that's supposed to be "no problem" and "we have plenty".
Let’s let the chips fall and see who they get to come to UK because they will have to get people in the portal.

What AD goes into detail about how much NIL money they have? No other AD has to pushback lies from his own fanbase discrediting its own schools NIL.

This is what it sounded like to me. Pissed off about the ROI on our nil spending.
This is why having someone like Pat Biondo as GM is so crucial.

Always vague accusations, they can never speak plainly and give specifics. There’s a report and Christian Collins isn’t signing because of a problem with JMI. Where is the report, who’s reporting this, and what is the problem with JMI that’s causing him not to sign?
He will not answer any of these questions. They never do in their coordinated attack on UK. They just muddy the waters and hope no one asks for specifics.
Barnhart did exactly what most fans here wanted him to do and in light speed, so fast it made everyone’s head spin. But, BDS cannot be cured. LOL!

If we truly spent $22 million on a basketball roster, money isn't the issue most make it out to be. After what we are seeing so far from the basketball team, I don't think they will be laying that much out in the future. My primary gripe from the football side is now that this change has been made, fan enthusiasm will be renewed and it's going to give them the green light to implement things like charging to tailgate in the grassy areas and likely ending a lot of long time common fans tailgating situations, including ours which will be in year 27 next year.
This year probably won't be his (Stein) best recruiting class. But, I think he'll surprise us in the years to come. He'll have more time to build the relationships with future recruits. Amd they'll have a chance to see the product on the field.

Soon as Cal got to Arkansas he started negatively addressing the nil situation at UK.
Bottom line is our money should be ok, but the AD literally did nothing. He hates nil so he made the coaches do everything themselves. Everything from raising it to spending it. You heard stoops and cal complain about that.
Good news it seems this champions blue move really supplanted Mitch and ended his monarchy over uk athletics. We're going to get a real football gm and hopefully they force the same on pope.
Things are changing, thankfully, otherwise we'd still be sifting through a list of no name coaching candidates.

I don’t really know what to think is true about this. You see lots of people on here constantly bashing the JMI deal but rarely do we have actual/true evidence that it has hurt UK. You even have Matt Jones, who I really like unlike most people here, voicing major concerns about the deal. I would think if it was truly leaving UK at a disadvantage that there would be a truckload of instances where we could point to UK getting burned. Instead I see a basketball roster that, even though it’s poorly constructed, that had no shortage of money to spend. We also consistently had better than average recruiting rankings for football.
He gets no credit for anything with the loons. Unserious people.
Half billion dollar deal being griped about. Folks, that’s a lot of money in an era in which fans, coaches, athletic departments, and play all talk about money.

That's because UK has been tight lipped about it. All we know is they cut out private collectives. Now jmi is the only entity allowed to accept collective money and negotiate nil deals using that money.

I'm not defending any lies, I've said that I don't like the deal with JMI, I don't like the 15 year limit of it. I don't trust JMI to put UK's best interests ahead of their making a profit. I think having someone high up in the athletic administration being married to someone high up at JMI is not a good look and gives the appearance of impropriety. If you are fine with all that then that's your opinion, but nothing I said was a lie.
You just spend a lot of time defending them, makes me wonder who signs your paycheck.

I am glad if we do indeed "have enough" (and I suspect that ultimately this is more true than not). But, his reaction is strange. There have never been any details released, we have had multiple coaches past and present complain about UK's NIL resources (Stoops, Rich Brooks, Cal). SO, why get so touchy when people want to know the details?
He didn't complain about NIL cause we didn't have it then, but yes he did complain about not getting what he needed. Specifically he complained about that so called "recruiting room".
