Baseball Promotional Schedule Released[/B]
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 9, 2015) - [/B]The West Virginia University baseball team has announced its promotional schedule for the 2015 season.
Friday, April 10 is the grand opening of Monongalia County Ballpark when WVU welcomes Butler for a game at 6 p.m. The game will feature a commemorative poster and commemorative ticket giveaway courtesy of United Bank.
Other opening day festivities include a pregame ceremony hosted by WVU play-by-play announcer Tony Caridi to celebrate the opening of the new ballpark. West Virginia University President Gordon Gee, Director of Athletics Shane Lyons and Head Baseball Coach Randy Mazey will address the crowd during this special ceremony.
There will also be a postgame fireworks show courtesy of United Bank.
Fans attending the opener on Friday are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance online at www.WVUGAME.com.
A "Dollar Day" is scheduled against Penn State on Tuesday, April 14, at 6 p.m. All tickets and select concessions will be available for $1 each.
There will be two Family Day's set for Friday, April 17 versus Oklahoma and Friday, May 1st against TCU. The promotion features four tickets, four hot dogs, four Cokes and one popcorn for just $25 at WVUGAME.com and 1-800-WVU GAME. Family Day packages must be purchased in advance and are not available on gameday. Both games are set for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
Every Friday home game throughout the remainder of the season will feature a postgame fireworks show. In addition to Friday's Butler game, the Mountaineers will take on Oklahoma on April 17, Kansas on April 24, TCU on May 1 and Texas Tech on May 15. All five games are set for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
Each Sunday during Big 12 play will be Kids Day, where kids 12 and under can run the bases and receive autographs following the game. The Sunday games will be against Oklahoma on April 19th, Kansas on April 26, TCU on May 3 and Texas Tech on May 16 (Saturday). Each game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
WVU's game on Tuesday, May 12 against Pitt is a "Gold Rush," with all fans encouraged to wear gold in support of the Mountaineers. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
