Why are so many series starting on Thursday? I don't recall this in the past. Half of our SEC series start on Thursday. Just curious.

But on the good side, it's one less day to wait for the weekend series to start and makes Thursdays better!

That is because the team was perceived to be on the up and up this year with great match-up in all of them except msu this past weekend. SEC always has at least 1 Thirsday to Saturday series that they feature. They've got our florida and tennessee series featured, which makes sense as these teams were all hyped coming into the season.
The reason you haven't seen us in many lately prior to this year is because we haven't been good.
I heard the reason is weather. Running into too many weather issues on Friday to Sunday series. Gives them an extra day for a make-up (sunday) if you have weather related issues.
That's not it. You have 3 days to complete 3 games. Can't carry over to Sunday. The new inclement weather policy only moves the curfew for starting a game/inning if the visiting school doesn't have classes the following Monday and no travel restrictions. It does not add an extra day to the weekend.
More often than not it's because of TV. MSU was due to TV. UF is because of TV. UT is because all series are Th-Sa the last weekend of the season because of SECT starting that Tuesday after. This weekend is because of Easter. All but one series are Th-Sa.

Because they can't carry weekends over to Mondays if inclement weather on Sunday. That's why they have the 3 days for 3 games policy. The best they could do is move the Sunday curfew back IF the visiting team doesn't have classes on the following Monday and can travel that day. They still can't play on Monday, only travel if needed.
Do we know when LSU is traveling here? Were they coming in today or early tomorrow morning?
If we need a doubleheader to get 3 games in, Thursday is the best option weather forecast wise.
