Batavia v Willowbrook

So I know plenty about Batavia but nothing about Willowbrook so here’s the results of my quick search. Willowbrook is 11-0 and seeded at #5. They have 2 notable wins against Hinsdale Central and Maine West. They won the West Suburban Gold conference but that conf seems a bit weak with next best team being Hinsdale South which finished 6-3 and got bounced in round 1 of post season by Prarie Ridge.

That’s all I got. Who can add more detail about Willowbrook?

I’m going with the known commodity....Batavia advances.

Interesting match up Batavia is the favorite but Willowbrook is trending up as a program and looking to get to the next level after going to the Quarters the last two years.

WB played a weak schedule but when they got a shot at HC they beat them so I wouldn’t underestimate them. I haven’t seen much of the but physically they have decent size and are athletic but will it be enough to slow down the power game of Batavia? The Bulldogs try to overwhelm you at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and have been successful doing it all year.

Batavia defense is very strong. Couple of the best Linebackers in the State. Willowbrook will no longer be taken lightly but Batavia wins. This weather is made for defense.

Yeah, having someone call great plays in the right situations is critical to competing in this conference. The days of beating up on Larkin, Elgin, Streamwood and being more than halfway to playoff eligibility are gone.

One of the coolest things about yesterday was the “forced patriotism” in honoring our veterans with a moment of silence and the playing of taps before the National Anthem where there was no kneeling.

Pretty sure Brookfield didn’t get to experience that.

We escaped I guess, the refs let Willowbrook back in the game then helped us on the drive to tie..

Willowbrook was well coached and tough nosed. If they didn't have to rely on the pass so much it could've been a different outcome..


The Bulldogs are resilient(not gonna say special) though, kept cool and got it done.. Experience goes along way..
