It makes no sense not to do it if you can. There’s a lot of g league guys that could be great in college

I haven’t the slightest clue how all of this is legit now, but whatever.

I also haven’t the slightest clue if there is actually a worthwhile PG option out there to could be brought in for the 2nd semester. If you bring someone in, they have to have to goods. No flyers on someone we just hope works out.

But I do think this option should at least be explored. We really have no serviceable backup PG, and the odds of Lowe surviving the grind of the SEC and post season (assuming we make it to the post season) are pretty sketchy at best, by my estimation. We really do need a guy who can share the spot with Lowe (best case scenario), or take over full time if that becomes necessary.

If we can’t identify a prospect to fit the bill, then so be it. But I do think we should make an attempt and not just accept rolling with the roster we have.

If we have a full, healthy team, we’re good enough to reach the FF — even with all the recruiting whiffs.

The problem is we’re one injury away from disaster, and Pope evidently is refusing (or Mitch/JMI are refusing) to go get a backup for Lowe that is actually a true PG and can get into the lane. I have to say… if Pope doesn’t go get a backup and do it quick, it’s hard to take all of his “I understand the assignment” talk seriously. If you’re “here to win banners”, then go get the piece we need to assure we have a shot at the FF this year. Because if you don’t, and Lowe goes down again, the season is effectively over.

If you make a mistake, fine. But if you then have the opportunity to rectify that mistake and choose not to, welp… I can’t feel sorry for you at that point. You’ve made your bed.
