He may not retire but the Wizards seem to somehow find a way to destroy careers...
Took the best PG in a decade in Wall and did nothing with him. Might be cherry picking, but I don't doubt they're a player grave yard.

Maybe it's the corruption and BS.

Washington is basically a drop off spot for every team in the NBA. Can’t make any real deals ? Work something out with Washington. They will always have something available. Like a pick and pull junk yard. Apparently it’s all you can carry for 40 bucks today.

Perfect place for him. They suck. He misses a **** ton of games. He can go there, get injured, miss a bunch of games, and theyll still lose as if he's not even there. The Eric Davis of the NBA.

Wizards will be a playoff team next year. Lining up AD in a front court with Alex Sarr, along with a backcourt of Trae Young and Kyshawn George. Bilal Coulibaly at SF. Russell, Bub Carrington, and Justin Champagnie off the bench when AD returns.

They won't make the playoffs next year
I wouldn't say that. It isn't that hard to get in with the play-in tournament. I think you are underestimating the strength of their young talent they have to build around with two NBA All-Stars added to the mix. Hell, I didn't even mention Tre Johnson above is coming into his own lately.

That Sarr, not Olivier haha, and Kyshawn George are studs. I have both on my fantasy basketball teams.

I don't expect Davis to suddenly become healthy. He has only played 20 games this season. And I think contract makes it hard to add additional pieces.

Plus I'm just not a fan of how Trae Young plays defense.

The dude is softer than Charmin. He clipped his fingernails too short once and missed a month. Whole time he was in Dallas, played in 29 games. That why I find the NBA product not worthy of my dollars. My opinion of pro sports in not a good one. Watch the old Celtics -Lakers rivalry if you want to see great basketball. You couldn’t keep guys out of those games. Just a completely watered down product, too much politics amongst other things

The 'AD is always hurt' and 'Trae can't play defense' arguments are the ultimate low-hanging fruit. They sound like conviction, but they lack context for the actual roster being built for 2026-27.

First, the health argument. AD played 76 games in '24 and over 50 last year. His current hand injury didn't even require surgery. The Wizards are 13-36; they are strategically resting him and Trae now so they are 100% for next season’s jump.

The Trae defense argument: You don't need some defensive first PG when your backline is Anthony Davis and Alex Sarr. Sarr is literally 2nd in the league in blocks (2.1 BPG), a front runner for the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and George/Coulibaly are elite wing defenders.

That stuff and the load management has ruined it for me. Used to enjoy watching former cats play. I miss the 90s NBA

Wall was nowhere near the best PG in a decade lol.....Steph Curry, Kyrie, Westbrook all drafted in years right around 2010 and all were better players.

But yes...Washington is where players go to die.

Wall was up there with them before injuries. Taking Washington to playoffs single handily.
You are absolutely right. Injuries derailed him, but Wall at his peak was incredible to watch in Washington. And everyone dumping on Trae Young clearly does not pay much attention to the league. The Hawks made the playoffs 3 out of the last 5 postseasons and went 6 games in the Eastern Conference Finals the year the Bucks won it all. Washington will sit out AD & Young down the stretch not only to be healthy for next year and must fall in 1-8 to keep their 1st Round pick, otherwise it goes to New York.

So if Washington is where players go to die, does it not make sense that Wall would be kneecapped by the organization?

Coming out of college, I don't remember anybody except Rose being as acclaimed as Wall. Maybe Kyrie. All the talent, IQ, speed, vision, and athleticism, but got stuck in Washington.

Coming into the league as a rookie none of them had the hype that John Wall had. Same as college. I guess people are forgetting how big of a star Wall was.
Popularity and hype no one was close to Wall.

Swap Kyrie and Wall. Team Wall up with LeBron James. Team Kyrie up with Gortat. I’m taking rookie Wall over any of them besides D Rose. That’s not blue shades either.
