As a long time Blues fan this is a terrible loss. Even late into his 80s he continued to tour and record and entertain his fans. I had the great fortune of seeing him live on two occasions. A master performer.

An American institution.

He will be sorely missed. RIP!

Saw him about 5 years ago and glad I did. The 3 Kings are now together playing the blues and everyone else is sitting back and watching. You could make a strong argument that Albert, BB, Freddie and Chuck Berry pretty much influenced every guitarist in blues and rock you can name. Pretty good company.

BB was a legend. His style, unlike so many of today's guitarists, was built around the emotional content of each single note. He said he used to try to make his guitar sound like a person's voice and give it that emotional feel. He was very successful at accomplishing that sound. His brilliance will continue to influence future guitar players for many years.
