I’ll start — I thought the play of Jasper Johnson, Malachi Moreno and Kam Williams were very encouraging last game and I hope to see more of it.
Also Otega, he's been a beast on defense.

I am genuinely excited at the prospect of seeing year 2 Malachi Moreno
There were some encouraging things in the last game. I'll start with this:
Despite missing 2 key players, the others really stepped up and played like we thought they could. Moreno was exceptional, Williams shot like we always knew he could, Johnson showed why everyone gets excited about him, Oweh continues to play hard and give us needed energy, Chandler (while not putting up big numbers) made some big plays and gave energy to the team that was needed....

Thought we played hard for 40 mins vs Mizzou for the first time this season, just blew it down the stretch. Thought we played hard for almost 40mins vs MSU and executed much better. First time I've seen the hard hedge on the high ball screens since before Cal.
I loved the aggressive defensive approach. Shout out to McLean for the suggestion to blitz the ball screens. Want to keep seeing that for sure
I'm with you man. I thought the 3 of them played well Saturday. I am curious on how Jelavic progresses throughout conference play.
Assistant Coach McLean did a great defensive scout and defensive game plan for SC.

I think the hard or soft hedge is the best way to deal with screens, with the worst being going under screens and switching(even if your big can stick with his man it gives them a mismatch against the guard and takes the big away from position to defend the rim and rebound).
