The two things that always turn out bad in college football are the squib kick and the prevent defense. And in case of Bob Stoops, decisions to re-punt the ball.the squib kick was not a bad call, it was poorly performed. Seiberts with his booming leg is the one who kicked it right at the guy.

What if we would have kicked it deep and Georgia would have returned it for a TD?
I still think the plan was good. It was poorly executed though.

lol I think that would have been highly unlikely. Just have Seibert kick it out of the endzone and Georgia would have most likely taken a knee. Some coaches just end up out thinking themselves and it bit us in the butt...again
Usually this is correct, but then again it ended up being the key to victory for Alabama against Clemson a few years ago. It reversed the momentum and was the turning point for the rest of the game. Without that, Clemson may have won that game (and the natty) the way it was going. The two things that always turn out bad in college football are the squib kick and the prevent defense.
I completely agree with this. It was not a bad call just bad execution. You do realize that given the time remaining that Georgia was going to return anything not kicked out of the back of the end zone. So if we kick it 9 yds deep and they run it back 110 yds for a touchdown how many would be hollering why didn’t we squib it. Hindsight is always 20/20. Bad execution of a good call. The call that I will never get over is not going for it on 4th and 1. Our lousy defense finally does its job and we don’t let our strength-our heisman trophy winning QB try to win the game! Who in the hell though we were going to keep holding Georgia to field goals?the squib kick was not a bad call, it was poorly performed.
