I generally roll my eyes at the activism of college kids, but in this case I see their unrest being fairly well indicative of the general unrest in the fan base at large. This stuff is a cancer. It spreads to game day and then it impacts recruiting. The dissatisfaction has reached a fever pitch.

I DON'T think Beamer should fire Shula b/c the fans are mad or b/c college kids are "protesting". I do think he should fire him b/c we are dead last in the conference in almost every meaningful offensive metric. If Beamer truly believes in his heart that Shula is the man for the job, he shouldn't cave to external pressure. But then I think our AD should weigh in.

I could be wrong about this, but I think Beamer has dug in his heels on Shula. There won't be another change until the off season. Even then, my pessimistic side says Beamer will wait until mid January for Shula to get another job and then try to hire an OC.

Maybe we will get lucky and Shula will resign.

Beamer is really not very intelligent from indications.

Jeez, if youre on the staff you kind of have to hold your breath and hope this is a very small turnout, and no one pays much attention.

I get the vibe from Beamer that he's bound and determined to prove to the world that he's smarter than the fans and beat writers who dare question his decision-making. Like Legal said above, I can see him digging his heels in - heck, maybe into and through next season. It really won't shock me. What will shock me is if it actually "clicks" and is "good".

I see Beamer's action on Satterfield and Teasley and, thus believe it will take Donati ordering him to fire Shula and any other underperforming staff.

I wonder if the coaching staff sits together and watches tape of the games with no players in the room and look at each other and say "geez, these guys are really bad"? Beamer, no coach for that matter, is ever going to come out in a press conference and say "Look; the reality is, we really don't have a very talented team this year. These guys just aren't that good. We're getting the best we can out of them".

I'd love to hear it.

If he has to order it do you really think that's the staff Donati wants his good name associated with? Donati already knows who he wants. Knew it when took the job. I know it's been forever without a real AD. People have forgotten.

Who do you think Donati has in mind? He's done pretty well with the Softball hire.

I don't know but I hope he has Sonny Dykes and his entire staff in mind. Several opportunities for good coaches have opened up but the TCU connection is the only thing that we might have going. But timing is everything and the timing is a problem. Probably just dreaming. Dykes also makes about $1 million a year less than Beamer. .

Roster building and acquiring talent is arguably the most important job of a head coach.Offensively Beamer has just not built a team that can compete in the SEC.

Good point. I would hope not.
