Never thought it could happen after the Florida game.

Honestly, after the UF game, I just wanted the season to be over. Didn't even want to watch our pathetic offense have to fumble around for 2 more games plus a pathetic bowl.

That's the one inexplicably bad performance from this season. They were a bad team and lucky to get a bowl. They only got one because our team completely crapped the bed the entire game. All is forgiven because they boat-raced UT and vanquished the upstate foe. I said it on here before. But I made a deal with The Lord in the 4th qtr of the clemson game that I would keep my mouth shut about the bowl if He allowed us to hang on and win.

I thought this and the Missouri game were bad ... now, notice I did not state "inexplicably" as not allowing Bell "any targets, even" ... that itself is inexplicable ... anyway, these two losses were depressing ... however, a strong finish and if we get Rattler back for next year, I am feeling better ... if Harbor commits, I am ecstatic ...

Missouri is just as inexplicable. There's no forgiveness for games you lost but should have won; there is gratitude for games where you might have overachieved.

But we were one game away from cracking the Top 20. The gap could have been bridged by winning in Jacksonville, where we were extremely undermanned, undermanned more than anyone in entire the bowl season. We were honorable in that defeat.

On a side note, I'd say that, among the SEC teams that lost their bowl games, we were the only one that didn't suck. The others that lost sucked the stars right out of the sky. Arkansas won but sucked anyway.

Gotta start somewhere. #23 is a better place to start than outside the top 25.

Nothing really inexplicable or unforgiveable about anything this season. Big wins like A&M are often followed by bad losses. Has happened here before. Very common across all of sports. Same goes for the big win against Tennessee after laying an egg at Florida. Teams often come out on fire after a bad loss that hurts their egos. Again, happens often across all of sports. It takes a great team, and often a little luck, to survive those emotional rollercoasters.

Felt kinda the same way at that time; but....this is the world we live in now. In the last 2-3 years (during the time of NIL/transfer/covid) - we have seen programs nosedive or ascend in half year stretches and in some scenarios even less timeframes. We have seen programs go from bust to NC (TCU) and seen the opposite. CFB is as manic-depressive as it's ever been...I just hope we stay on the right side of things.
