Let's guess what Beamers next move will be.

My guess is the next statement will be "We have done an internal evaluation and have decided to SIMPLIFY things" Then there will be some sort of half *** explanation as to what that means.

I have been hearing this same statement for roughly 50 years in some form or another.

Sparky: "We just gotta go out there and execute"

Fat Brad: "Remember these are 19, 20 year old youngsters"

Lou: "You're never as good as you think you are or as bad as you think you are. It's somewhere in between"

Spurrier: "It is what it is. But anyway"

Muschamp: "My guys busted their asses out there and if you have a problem you take it up with me"

I want him to acknowledge that this season is simply lost cause. Not only are we not going to have the kind of season predicted, we’re probably not even making a bowl game. Just tell us the truth.

Wow, that's a good memory and I think you are spot on. All I could remember was that I have listened to some sort of BS for half a century.

I also remember Muschamp said we'd be "all gas, no brakes," but the transmission must have been shot.
Which coaching staff kept saying "we need to get xyz more touches" then the next week he doesn't play? I think it was Beamer with that first genius OC he had.

Muschamp said it of Doty & Dak. Beamer said it regarding Dak as well. Remember commenting on this very thing elsewhere before I stumbled across this place.

No competitor, even a losing one, is going to do that. We have the bodies to compete. The team, especially the coaches, are just going to have to figure it out. No team should just throw in the towel after 4 games. Have the lofty season aspirations we had at the beginning of the season fell by the wayside? Probably. However, all this team can do now is prepare to go 1-0 this week and go into the bye with something positive to look towards.

You are right, as long as the team doesn't give up on the season. A loss to UK, especially an ugly loss, could break the spirit of the team.

I think we beat UK and then have two weeks of people telling themselves things have turned around.

I've heard plenty of coaches over the years acknowledge that, due to already sustained losses, the team isn't going to have the kind of season envisioned.

Just give me some physical football. Good gosh I miss Nate Adkins Peel back smash into rushing DE on goal line to open a hole. Dude was a baller. Over achiever who was not afraid. We got whiffers out there who don't seem to like contact playing football. Irony. Even Harbor gets jumpy if someone gets around his legs. Ugh- SC Football. How glorious it would be to be 4-0 and clemmers 1-3. But we just can't beat Vandy and Missou??
Gonna be a long season.

I won’t be surprised if this is Beamer’s final season as head coach. I hope the new A/D is monitoring the football program very closely and has candidates in mind.

If he doesn't do some major stuff internally before we play again in 2 weeks, he's solidifying the 2025 outcome at 4-8, 1-7.

They say insanity is doing the same thing every time and expecting different results.
That pretty much sums up why I continue to logon to this site. Almost everything on here is negative. Fire this coordinator, fire the head coach and hire a recently terminated head coach to replace the coordinator. There has to be a better way to get information on my favorite team without having to read the mindless pap put forward by some of the”experts” who post here.

I'm sure he has candidates in mind. Real ADs always do.
Candidates in mind and candidates signed are two very different things; the Muschamp and Beamer hirings proved that. Lot of folks point to Mike McGee as a premier AD; in football, he hired Brad Scott, got lucky because Holtz wanted to get back into coaching near Florida, and Holtz himself basically bagged Spurrier. McGee didn’t do jack. Be careful what you wish for.

I am more in the keep Beamer camp, but OC and OL coach need to go. Hire a top-notch OC and let him bring in his crew.

I do understand your point and not saying it is not without merit.
It appears to me that Beamer likes to do all the hiring. I can't see him giving that up for anyone.

Agree on OC and OL. OL has to be an absolute no-brainer at this point. That should be an ultimatum from the AD...if Beamer hasn't figured it out. If Beamer hasn't figured out that Teasley's gotta go, then that raises grave questions about his ability to manage the program.

Conventional wisdom would say you give Shula another year. Get a new OL coach and see how his offense does. Reality is that there just isn't time to wait and find out about Shula. If Beamer is serious, he'll make a move on OC as well. He has to get more cutthroat about some of these decisions. With how Sellers finished last year, I think Beamer could have attracted a very good OC. Lots of OCs would have loved to work with a player of Sellers' ability. Missed the boat on that one.

Then he needs to rethink things. He has hired 3 OCs, 2 sucked and one was decent. He has yet to have a good OL. One of the complaints about his hiring was that he had zero head coach or coordinator experience, well now he is an experienced head coach in the SEC. It is time he uses that experience.
