It is so hard after only one week to try and not overinterpret the results, but it is fun. It will be very interesting to see if Chicago can keep this up (well... not 59 PPG, but explosive offense), or will some sharp DC figure out what they are doing and shut it down. Chicago can also be happy that GB lost and Detroit didn't look too hot in barely hanging on against New Orleans breaking in a new QB.

For me as a Bengal fan, any win in Week 1 is a positive. The defense only gave up 20 points (7 Tampa points were a pick-6), which isn't shutdown, but better than years past. That was helped by recovering four fumbles, which obviously won't happen every week. But, like the Bears, when you have a strong offensive team, all you need is for your D to be average, and hopefully opportunistic in generating take-aways.

Both the Giants and Jets won on the same day for the first time in nearly 2 years, while they both won their openers for the first time in 17 seasons. Strange things afoot in the NFL this year already.

As long as their health holds up, especially on the OL (and CW, of course), I think they will be extremely potent. So many weapons, and an HC and QB who knows how to use them.

CW is very hard to defend. The sky is the limit with him.

I don't know what to make of Stroud. He looked good for much of the game yesterday but couldn't finish at the end. Perhaps he was taking his cue from his fellow Buckeyes performance on Saturday night.

Do you want to trade Joe Burrow for CJ Stroud?

I don't know what to make of Stroud. He looked good for much of the game yesterday but couldn't finish at the end. Perhaps he was taking his cue from his fellow Buckeyes performance on Saturday night.

The Bengals are the real deal this year. Of course, Burrow and Chase are top level players (that first TD catch by Chase was amazing), but their revamped defense looks to be stout. The Texans couldn't get anything going on the ground yesterday.

It didn't help that Nico Collins was out injured, but it's pretty clear that CJ Stroud is not in the same QB tier as Burrow, Allen, etc.

I'm trying to stay mostly positive about that game yesterday, but there are still some concerns. Stroud did finish with 353 yards passing and seemed to have the middle of the field wide open all day against the Bengals weak LBs. However, it was clear they had no down the field passing game, which really hurt them near the red zone when the field compressed. That is where they missed Nico. The Bengals' run defense, however, was what makes me excited going forward. They were dominant. They even psyched Ryans into kicking a long field goal on 4th and inches, which was a terrible coaching blunder.

I think Houston is better than their record so far. That defense is legit. The Bengals had amazing field position all day long and couldn't score without two exceptional plays by Burrow/Chase.
