They had better hope the defense continues to play well and everyone stays healthy. Because if it doesn't happen they will struggle to win six games.

The defense looked great but Seattle sucks, the offense looks great until they get off their scripted plays. They are a work in progress but there is some hope.

I am finally excited to watch them play again. A lot of talented players and a fun Offense. Probably a year or two away but young and fast O and gang tackling Junkyard Dog D works for me. I think looking at the Schedule, they can go 10-6

I don't see 10-6. A win vs. Arizona, and then I see lots of losses. Jake Trubisky needs to get much better. Havent seen a decent long pass yet. Short passes with runs after catch, but I don't recall any long passes.

Mitch boy still making risky throws into multiple layers of coverage etc. Seems like he tries to make something happen every down. He needs to correct this quickly. Experience hopefully will give him patience. It’s ok to throw a few away unless you are at your last few plays of the game and need to score a TD. Still thinking 7-9 maybe 9-7 tops.

Or Mitch Cutler if you prefer.

He is no Cutler. Cutler would be pointing his finger at his teammates hanging his head crying stop talking about me. By the way Cutler would have twice as many turnovers. That Interception fumbling fool.

Bears defense will keep them in games all year. Most sacks in the NFL so far and good at stopping the run forcing teams to throw more than they want to. When the offense takes off, and I'm sure the players and coaches on the Bears believe it will, then they will be a lot closer to making the playoffs than a lot of posters here believe.

Trubisky looked better in this game than he did in the first game despite the two picks on his record. He has had two great starts to both games and then the offense bogs down. Not entirely his fault so I am willing to give him a lot of leeward given its a new offensive system with new stuff being put in every game.

By the way I don't drink Kool-Aid so no smart comments.

Bears defense for real. Maybe it will be like that Ravens team with one of the all time great defenses and a sub par offense, they put the offense on their back all the way to a super bowl win - but probably not because of two big differences

1. Bears D is good but not at 85 bears or that ravens team (yet)

2 the rules changes!! THE BIG DIFFERENCE are the RULES CHANGES. No one can hit a WR or QB except in a pitchers strike zone (and not even that as a pitcher can throw a strike at the knees and a tackler has to stay in the waist to chest zone on QBs anyways).

Unfortunately, I don’t think we will be seeing anymore completely dominating defenses due to all the rules changes.

I hate to say this, but from here on out in the NFL you will have to have an above average offense to make a deep push in the playoffs whereas in prior years you really didn’t and could have an average or slightly below average offense and still get it done.

Gene,

Trubisky' s strength is throwing down the middle of the field.

Weaknesses are throwing the ball deep especially near the sidelines with accuracy.

In a.way does he remind you of a Broncos QB from last year? See if we are thinking of the.same one?

Same guy that should be mentioned on another recent thread? If it is, makes me think why wasn't he looked into as a signing to be the #2.

No I was referring to graduated HS QB Nick O. reminds me of Tribs in a way.

Similar games, both can run and versitile, strengths are short passing games down the middle of the field, weaknesses throwing deep.

Yes in a way. Bronco's QB last year was a terrific runner and your right good at the short middle of the field passer. The other kid who didn't get any chance was the starter for the frosh and soph teams and started junior year as the starter and then broke his thumb early in the season and never started again. Definitely a much better passer both with the long and short pass and IMO should have been given a better chance to play. But then again I am not a coach and not privy to the inside workings of what was going on with last years team.

Trubisky had a nice down field throw in the first game down the sidelines and if we are being honest the long throw down the side lines which was intercepted was an exceptional leaping catch by the Seattle cornerback. Nagy has come out and stated that it was going to take time to get his system in place and he has no problem with Trubisky trowing the occasional interception. Unlike Cutler, (whom I actually was rooting for), Trubisky seems to be a QB who is very mindful not throwing a pick in critical spots in the game. I look to see Trubisky throw the long pass more often in the future. The Bears finally have some receivers who can stretch the field so I feel it's premature to judge Trubisky's accuracy on the longer passes until we get further into the season.
