Obviously, none of those teams was nearly as good as this one. But I can never let a UGA game week go by without recalling the Brandon Bennett leap. An all-time Gamecock moment.
Maybe one of those switchblades that’s actually a comb.yeah - to hell with Georgia. But- every team mentioned...we had more talent than we currently do....and every GA team mentioned.....they had less talent than they currently do. ALso they have the best staff (IMO) they've ever had collectively. We have zero chance to win this football game. We aren't a good team...and Smart definitely has taken the "process" philosohpy from Saban and it works. They don't overlook people/teams. They may play badly sometimes against game opponents with good talent....maybe a type of team with a bunch of 23-24 year olds ala APP St this past weekend and give them a scare....but we are going into a gun fight holding a switchblade.
If Marshall can go to ND and App st go to A&M and win, then I we can tooNot sure we have the horses on defense but "on any given Saturday". Look what happened last weekend!
ND and A&M ain't UGA. UGA would destroy Marshall and App State. As someone stated above, Kirby has installed "the process" in Athens. They don't practice to beat any given team, they practice to beat every team. Until we adopt that mindset the best we can really hope for is 8 or 9 win seasons and hoping to be in the top 3 in the East.If Marshall can go to ND and App st go to A&M and win, then I we can too
"This UGA team is playing like the new Bama. You're not gonna catch them sleeping."
It looks like this is the biggest difference between UGA now and before Kirby showed up. Richt always managed a "wtf" game every season where the team lost to an inferior opponent because they didn't take the game seriously. The only time that has happened under Kirby was losing to us in 2019 and I'm sure he remembers that game and doesn't let any of the team forget it. You can bet he's made them watch that game this week.
UGA will cover by halftime.
I think in that loss to UF they had their top 2 qbs injured as well.I would say so. Since they lost to us in 2019, they have 4 losses: #1 Bama (eventual champion), #2 Bama, #2 LSU (eventual champion), #8 UF.
I miss the days when we would play them with Spurrier at the helm.I miss the days when we would play them very early... like first game early. We could always count on them looking sluggish. We were too, but it made for a good game. And more than often, they'd have some players entering the season suspended... good times.
