A beauty. That Irish accent! What made her special was the intelligence and whit. Not just a pretty face. And the red hair.. Did I mention the red hair? The Quiet Man is a tradition in our home on St Patty's Day.

Unfortunately, makeup and surgery makes a huge difference. Weirdly, some people photograph well and others don't. Perhaps the most beautiful gal I ever met worked with my company in LA. She had been "discovered" many times. She dated several Lakers and one of the recurring guys on American Gladiators. Cindy Crawford actually "hit" on her. She went to several photo shoots but non of them captured her beauty. Secondly, I think my wife is one of the most beautiful women I've ever known but she takes horrible photos. She knows how to be beautiful from makeup to dress to posing. She did some modeling at car and boat shows in her youth. But I have thousands of photos of her and not a single one comes close to how pretty and beautiful she is.

one of the interesting takeaways from this thread is how few of the photos feature a woman grinning or even smiling. I'd say 80% have a pensive or dreamy look to them.

Photos that are too expressive can be misleading I think. But, everyone loves a nice smile.
