Thought I'd post this for nostalgia's sake. In its final form, it was the focal point of Beaver Stadium for 50-60 years. Very few living Penn State fans knew of a time when the big grey battleship wasn't looming over the bleachers. I felt a bit of sadness as it was falling but when it hit the ground, I thought "Finally!!" I'm looking forward to seeing the completed renovations.

And you know this how because that alternative was never presented? Do you know what the plans are for the remainder of the stadium?

What do you call it when an organization's CFO won't (or maybe can't) do an NPV calculation? Pathetic seems like a pretty good adjective.

Something needed to be done with Beaver Stadium. Whether the current project was the best solution remains an open question.
Given our BOT's reputation for honesty, competence, and transparency there is no need to ask questions.

Because they are spending all those millions on a facility that gets used seven times a year and has nothing whatsoever to do with what is supposed to be the core mission of the University,

Yeah, others are doing the same stupid thing- that's not a justification.

7x a year x 100,000 people. Add in a multi billion dollar tv deal.

Nitt is probably an educator. Educators only care about lining their own pockets regardless of education results.

I think a part of of the press box might have been older than that.

Penn State has "a multi billion dollar tv deal?" You could say that, maybe over 25-30 years.

If educators "only care about lining their own pockets" then most of them have chosen the wrong profession.
