Wow!!...those are steep. They may have to put an age restriction on those seats. And why didn't they put a roof over those stand? Terrible design.
Why is it terrible? There were no roof(s) before the renovation or perhaps it was choice not to do it driven by cost. The structural design changes would have impacted all the steel all the way down to the foundation as well as the foundations.

Think these seats will be ready in time for USC?

No. ICA has already said those won't be ready until next year. It makes sense. Even though they could probably install all the seats before the season is finished, the inside area is still a construction zone and none of the interior work in what will be the Marzano Club is complete. No restrooms, no concessions. etc. IIRC, the plan is to continue the interior work during the season and that would be more difficult with a bunch of port-a-johns setting around.

Thanks for clarifying, NP. Trying to understand Pat Kraft's remarks about hoping to hit maximum capacity for the season by the time USC rolls into town.

Interesting article, Step. It's pretty complex providing a canopy in a new build, imagine how complex and expensive it would be on an existing old structure like Beaver Stadium.

Walter P. Moore was the structural engineer on an 18,000-ton structural steel structure I was involved in early in my career; they are one of the best in the country. One of their principals was gracious enough to be a reference for me when I was applying for my PE registration.

I was thinking back to years ago when someone put out this rendering of what a renovated Beaver Stadium might look like. Other than the south deck still being there, it's a total fantasy.

How much PSU $ did Sandy spend on the "consultants" on her Master Plan (which included that "mock up" of Beaver Stadium)? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Knowing her probably double what she paid for her adding 40+ Associate Athletic Directors to the payroll....

Is there a new rendering? Will there be bricks or will it just be steel with some banners?
The current rendering(s) have been available for months. They don't look anything like the other image posted, which shows a brick facade. It's hard to tell exactly what materials some of the cladding shown are made of, but it looks like mostly glass curtain walls and aluminum panels.

On we go with the ARMS. RACE. o_O . This seems like the right time for PSU to pull back. Enough already.

😞
You are not going to buy a residential condo overlooking the field at PSU even if they put a Starbucks in the lobby?
