How about adding "Joseph Vincent Paterno Field" to the official name......i honestly do not know what backlash if any would occur...but i think older alumni (graduate before 2000) would give more.

The narrative is already set in stone. People either hate JoePa and Penn State or they don't. Nothing that we do or don't do will change the mindset.

One thing for sure, there may be some people who won't donate to PSU until Joe is honored, but I doubt there are any people who would STOP donating to Penn State if he was honored in one form or another.

As someone who has worked around engineers, especially structural engineers, 19 studies for a stadium the size and age of Beaver does not sound out of sorts. Granted some of the studies were probablybased on "here is how much money we have and what can you do with it", but there are times when multiple scopes of work are going on, each on generating a report (aka study). There are also studies that look at costing only, given changes in pricing and other factors.

But I digress to the AKB on what is and what is not an appropriate number.

And, parts of Beaver Stadium are *very* old--some of it was moved in the 1960s to the current location. According to Wikipedia, parts date back to 1909, though I'm not sure which parts. It's more likely that the steel bleachers built in the 1930s are the oldest parts.
